I bought the Brunton Sustain over a year ago, and it's still running great. I primarily use it to keep all my USB powered devices charged while we're on-the-go. The extra reserve is great for when we don't have access to an outlet - like flying coast-to-coast while running multiple gadgets. I tested it with several of our laptops, and it charged all of them. The dimensions are actually bigger than stated in the specifications. The Sustain is 7 3/4" L x 3 13/16" W x 1 3/16" D. I think the original numbers were pre-production figures that were never updated. Contrary to the product photo of the orange unit, these now have 5 LED status lights. You can see that photos of the newer blue model show 5 LEDs. It takes a really long time to charge from the A/C adapter. For example, I usually recharge it when it gets down to 3 LEDs. It takes about 24 hours to get all 5 LEDs to light. I think it does a quick charge to about 80%, then trickle charges up to 100%. It seems to charge faster from a cigarette lighter, which is typical.

I've started using the Goal Zero Nomad 13.5 watt solar panel to charge the Brunton, and I'm pretty happy with the results. I don't have any figures, but in theory it should take about 2 sunny days to charge this battery. Goal Zero's 27 watt panel would be a better match. The reason I went with Goal Zero for the solar panel (instead of Brunton) is that they are much cheaper. But, Brunton's storage batteries (street prices) are much cheaper, and smaller, than Goal Zero's, which is why I'm mixing and matching. None of the input and output connectors match, so I have been lucky to have a bunch of miscellaneous adapters from other products.

Verified Purchase
I bought this item to power my Asus Eeepc 1005pe notebook and my Nokia phone e72. However it does not come with an adapter for 2.5/0.7mm power jack like Asus requires. Also, it does not charge my Nokia phone over USB. The only way I could test that it actually does something was by hooking it with a Dell Latitude laptop. It worked there, but I bought this product for portability not for carrying it around with a 4 kg laptop. I am so disappointed in this product. I am thinking of acquiring a power adapter to fit with my Asus Eee pc but I could not find one anywhere, maybe other reviewers can help me.
My advice is to first check with Brunton support that your devices are supported and then acquire the product.
