5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Cookware!
We consider ourselves lightweight backpackers. We just went on a three day, two night backpacking trip and used our new Brunton Kettle as our primary water boiling pot. It was hands down the fastest pot to boil water in that we have used. It did not disappoint. It boiled a full pot of water (about 4 cups) at lightning speed. We were even able to cook a noodles and sauce...

3.0 out of 5 stars Kettle is small but quality is good.
First, I want to say that the quality of this kettle is very good. It is very lightweight, the lid fits tightly, and it would be great for 1 or 2 people to take backpacking. However, the specs are a bit misleading. While it is true that the kettle holds 30.4 oz, this is with the water right up to the rim, to the point that you can't get the lid on without spilling some...

We were even able to cook a noodles and sauce mix right in the pot. Highly recommend this kettle to any backpacker, camper, canoer, who is looking for a light, compact pot to boil water in (superfast).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lightweight kettle, July 28, 2009

If you are packing mostly foilpacked meals or other freeze dried food that requires boiling water a little kettle like this is a great thing to have, and can just about replace all of your other pots and pans.

I use this with my Esbit stove and it works GREAT.

Lightweight, easy to use and clean.

Great piece of gear.

However, the specs are a bit misleading. While it is true that the kettle holds 30.4 oz, this is with the water right up to the rim, to the point that you can't get the lid on without spilling some water out. Even if you were to just put 28 oz in this kettle and acutally try to boil it, I'm betting the water would start flowing out of the spout rather quickly. The kettle is only 6" dia and 2.2"H so that may give you a better idea of the physical size. Good for 1-3 cups of hot water but nothing more.

I was STUNNED at how tiny this kettle is when I received it. It looks like a toy! I nearly put it back in the box & returned it. But I decided to check how much liquid it holds. I filled it nearly to the top & poured out the contents & it will fill two coleman camp cups nicely...not as much as I would have liked but because it heats up very quickly, it will fill 4 cups in a matter of minutes to satisfy my 4 person family. It works great on the campfire, just as ordered!

It is very small & lightweight, I could see it being a great backpacking kettle! I would recommend it to anyone but first check the dimensions so you aren't shocked when you receive it like I was. The size is deceptive; it looks small but it does hold a fair amount of liquid & the water heats up in just a minute or so.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great little tea kettle!, April 22, 2010

This little tea kettle is a perfect size for camping. It holds exactly two cups of liquid, and works great. It's actually much smaller than it appears in the picture, which is fine with me because it won't take up much room in my backpack. My water came to boiling in only a couple of minutes. The lid is secure while pouring. The handle didn't heat up during heating. I highly recommend this kettle!

This kettle is amazing. As said in previous reviews, it's shocking how small and light it is. But, holds 24 ounces of water easily and heats the water quickly. It's an excellent choice for backpacking and ultralight.

The kettle is great, boils quick. The only drawback was that we have a leak under the nose. other than that it's a must have for anyone who likes outdoor activity.

This is a great little kettle. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it is much smaller than I thought it would be. Although the description states how much it can hold, for what it was priced, I thought it would be larger. Other than that, it works great, the handle stays up and in place, the lid stays in place when you pour and the water gets hot/boiling quite fast. It is also very lightweight so if you are looking for a one or two person lightweight kettle for backcountry camping, this one would be perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs, July 6, 2011

This kettle was exactly right for my needs. Its very small and light, with no fancy crap. I use it when backpacking, it fits perfectly on my whisperlite international stove with or without the wind guard. One kettle full makes one freeze dried breakfast plus a cup of coffee and enough leftover to fill about 1/5 of a nalgene bottle. With a second kettle full I have a full nalgene bottle and enough leftover clean water to clean up my spork and coffee cup, the whole process takes less than 20 mins, cant beat it.
