I recently changed my entire beauty routine. I'll tell a bit about myself so maybe you can relate to my story.

I chopped off my hair in jan 2011. I used to have really really really long hair in the past so I had to learn living without it. At the moment my hair almost hit the shoulders. I've decide to buy this item since I heard that plastic brushes dry your hair off since the take all the oils from your hair and that supposed to be a reallly good natural conditioning. (I know it sound gross is not like I wash my hair once a month, I actually wash it pretty often - 2 to 4 times a week)

Since I used it I noticed a difference on my hair, it looks really shiny and easy to manipulate. Also the wooden bristles are really nice when they touch the scalp. since I cut my hair I find my scalp really sensitive to any brushes and this one really help.

If you're also looking for a shampoo I recommend washing your hair with a regular bar of olive oil soap, and as a mask dry remedy by aveda does the job. If anyone have a recommendation on conditioner it will be well received.

P.S. not a native english speaker. Just in case my grammar is a mess. :)

I have now gone to Bass Wood Bristle Brushes. I went with wood bristles to avoid static electricity and I wanted to have a good healthy Eco brush. This style is Good but my favorite is the Semi S shaped model. The Bass Brushes are less money and better quality than the expensive Widu brush I have- wished I had just stuck with Bass. This is a great brush for a very reasonable price. The wood back and handle are lovely and smooth to the touch, comfortable in your hand. The pins may feel kind of like plastic, but they aren't - they're bamboo, in a cushioned bed. They go very smoothly through my fine hair, with no snagging or pulling. The ends are rounded and feel good against my scalp. I tried a boar bristle brush before this, but the bristles were too soft to get through my hair - this one does the job well. One thing I really like is that the pins are not bulbous at the ends. The old vent plastic brush I used to use had bulbous tips on the ends of the pins, which would catch lint and debris, which was nearly impossible to clean off of the brush. This brush seems like it will be easy to keep clean and looking good.

Definitely recommended!

I love Bass brushes. I have previously bought one with a combo of plastic and boar hair bristles that is awesome for night brushing and spreading your natural oils through your hair, especially if you have thick hair. (Boar hair alone does not penetrate the layers when brushing thick hair.) I gave that brush to a couple of my friends because it was so fantastic. I feel the same about this brush--which does have bamboo bristles. It brushes and styles my long, thick hair better than any other without the breakage that other brushes cause. Plus, it gives your scalp an amazing massage when brushing! You won't regret getting one. (I got mine through the Vitacost seller--$8 + $4.99 shipping. Excellent service and received the brush in two days.)

Bass hair brushes are wonderful! I've had several over the years. They last a long time, they are solid, the special bristles allow for a smooth brush- not so much pulling or ripping of hair. At first I thought these brushes were a little pricey compared to others, but it is well worth it!!

I have recently ordered both the Widu and this brush, so I can directly compare them for me. The Widu brush is a bit softer on my scalp; the Bass is slightly sharper and feels stronger and a bit rougher. I prefer the Widu, but not by much and the price is a lot better for the Bass. Overall, I much prefer either of these brushes to regular plastic bristle brushes. I am a swimmer and these are a lot more gentle on my hair after swimming.

I am a curly so can't use a brush for detangling. But when my hair has been finger detangled, this brush reaches my scalp, feels great and does not rip out any of my hair. The bristles are very flexible and set nicely in a pneumatic cushion and they are widely spaced, which is great for someone like me with extremely thick curly hair. I would recommend this product highly.

This is my first wooden pin hair brush. I've only had it for a few days, but I already would never go back to anything else! There is no static and this brush has nice, deep bristles that actually brush all your hair. I have frizzy hair that takes a lot of very particular products to keep it from getting frizzy. I don't have thick hair, but I have very long hair and a lot of it. I find I have less tangles because the bristles retain their shape (nylon, plastic or boar ones tend to get misshapen due to the heat of the hairdryer). I think because it is wood, it is harder for the bristles to get misshapen. There is a sensory experience you get with the wooden bristles that you don't get with plastic. I really like it and find it stimulates my scalp. If you have a sensitive scalp, it might not be for you. This brush didn't have the rounded ends on the bristle "pins" that plastic needs because plastic would scratch your scalp. I thought this was a great value because the other wooden handle + wooden bristle brushes out there are usually $40-$80+. I first saw the wooden bristle pins in Europe, where all the pricey brands are less costly than they are in the states. I still didn't buy them because it seemed expensive (although I have Mason Pearson's) for something I hadn't really heard much about. This one has been great for me!
