A quaint Irish puzzle,
By Curious Senior (Fort Myers, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Brush with Death (Rue Morgue Vintage Mysteries) (Paperback)
Like all of Sheila Pim's mysteries, which I have been tracking down since I read the first one, this is a delightful mystery which can only have been written by an Irishwoman with a keen interest in horticulture which is crucial to the solution of the mystery. I particularly recommend it for those fans who love the genre for its puzzles rather than for gore and mayhem.

Pleasant reading,
By Ron "mvg@whidbey.com" (Whidbey Island, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Brush with Death (Rue Morgue Vintage Mysteries) (Paperback)
The Pim Irish mysteries are not a series and each is unrelated to the other. This one is mildy satisfying, not so much for the mystery surrounding the poisoning, but for the observations about the state of Irish society around the time. It concerns an artist so there is an abundance of art-oriented information, a lot of which is interesting. Only gripe is there seemed to be a few too many members of the Guards involved to keep them all straight in my mind.
