4.0 out of 5 stars Alice gets hard and heavy
I have been a fan of Alice Coopers music for many years , his "Brutal Planet" cd is by far my favorite A.C. cd . This is a very heavy album and contains more of AC's great lyrics . Check out the songs Brutal Planet ,Wicked Young Man and Eat Some More. This cd is a must for any fan of good heavy metal .
Dragontown is also a very very good cd . I wouldn't rank it up...

1.0 out of 5 stars Be careful with this edition!!!!
The 1-star rating is for the packaging, not for the content.I mean, both albums are 5-star musically (I don't know which of the two is the best,Alice is in top form in the 90-00's) but the cd itself is poor.

There are no lyrics,no album covers, ANYTHING AT ALL!!!Just a lame description of the albums.

You have to have the sight of an eagle to decipher the writing credits in the album (they are buried in a sea of dark blue ink!)

A disaster. And it's a pity because it's cool to have both albums in one package, but not this way. Remember that this is a part of the infamous 2cd RECALL series.Enough said.

DRAGONTOWN: 5 STARS
BRUTAL PLANET: 5 STARS
THIS ITEM: 1 STAR.

Dragontown is also a very very good cd . I wouldn't rank it up there with Brutal Planet but to get them both in one package at a very low price was a deal I could not pass up.
The downside is , as with all Recall cd sets , the liner notes do not give you very much info , just the bare minimum .
I rate Brutal Planet a 5 and Dragontown a 3 - Check them out

WOW, just have to say...Thank You Alice...my Hometown Man!!! Gotta love this guy...golfs with the conforming, suit and tie pros and yet can still make a macabre rocking CD like these two. Brutal Planet is my favorite of the two CD's, but the more you listen to them you realize that each does has a life...er....death of it's own.

If you are a Cooper fan then do yourself a favor and pick this double disk up and add it to your collection, but be warned...listening may give you the urge to run and hide from the fiend's abounding on these licks. Enjoy...perhaps with all the lights on!

DANIEL....shame on you for your 1 star rating due to lack of packaging materials! For the low price paid for this 2...let me repeat TWO CD edition you really shouldn't EXPECT to get the full jacket version. For that matter you can go on-line anytime and get the lyrics to most any song on most any CD. Therefore your 1 star rating is most unfair. Hope Alice's minion's come up from all their hiding places and GET YOU! Watch your back!!! ;-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Alice Cooper Double Feature, July 4, 2009
This review is from: Brutal Planet/Dragontown (Audio CD)
The guy who wrote the liner notes obviously did not have a clue abut his subject matter, the song lyrics should have been inserted instead. However Cooper's attention to diction makes "Brutal Planet" and "Dragontown" fascinating listening. Both are underrated albums that confront issues or morality. The music rocks.

Hey, short and sweet, i just got the cd a few minutes ago, i put it in the walkman cd player and i'm on the 3rd song. The sound quality is Treeeeemendous! The first 3 songs so far have been total rockers! if your into the Winger Pull album or any great hard rock album you'll be loving on this baby! You still get a 4 page booklet with descriptions of the album's theme etc and for the money its a wild steal. Get it now! - James

5.0 out of 5 stars It takes a forklift to lift this CD, June 21, 2008
This review is from: Brutal Planet/Dragontown (Audio CD)
These are in my opinion Alice's heaviest two albums in along time and the idea of packaging them together is one of marketing genius. Anyone interested in one of these albums should indeed hear both. There isn't as much experimentation here as on other releases the volumes contained are just the brutal proof that experience is what polishes a performer and Alice shines bright on this collection of music. The only song I didn't like was "Disgraceland", to make fun of the king is sacriligious in Memphis. Unless your Jerry Lee.
