Recorded at Montreal's legendary Spectrum on October 17, 2003, Bryan Lee and his band delivered a concert filled with the emotional intensity and pure passion, reminding us that Lees talent is best captured in a live setting. Hes an energetic, direct and often spellbinding performer, unafraid to show the often deep emotion that is part of his life and of his lifes work. The set surveys a best of Bryan Lee from The Bounce to Memphis Bound (both his own tunes) and 12 classic Lee rides in between: a slow minor blues in Blues On My Mind, shuffles like Rocket 88.

I couldn't wait to watch this one, his first dvd recorded live in Canada. Some great songs and some were well done, a fair band not great. Some songs Bryan just stood there singing with his guitar, but he did not play it most of the time. He does not do to many solos either, after awhile I started getting bored. Nothing to draw you in much I guess, the best word for it is kinda flat. The dvd is not real bad, but not real great either.

Last year I travelled to US and visited the wonderful city of New Orleans. I had the chance (and the privilege) to be in the presence of this incredible man, playing three sets of one and a half hour each (yes, 4 1/2 hours on Bryan Lee) at "The Saloon" for the price of a beer bottle and US$ 10 tip. As a bonus I got his autograph on two CD's (yes, Mr Bryan Lee is blind but is able to sign his name for those who ask him), a photo with the man and a little chat with him and his wife Bethany. I bought this DVD to relive that wonderful night, which I will never forget. This DVD doesn't match the standards of more recent releases, considering it is presented in 4x3 full screen and the sound is just Ok. But it is souvenir and I will keep it dearly.

This is a great live blues DVD. I like the camera work and the sound quality. Bryan and his band are smokin'.
