Product Description

Two 60 oz. bags (7.5 lbs) 120 wash cycles of automatic dishwasher detergent with phosphate. Eliminates limescale buildup, white film & water spots in hard water. Besides including the maximum amount of phosphate allowed for institutional food service use, we went a step further and took out most of the inert fillers that were used in your old detergents to add weight and volume. This makes Bubble Bandit mighty powerful, and why you only need to use 2 to 3 tablespoons in each wash cycle. Product Acknowledgement- The following states have legislation in place that limits the sale of dishwasher detergent containing phosphate. If you live in one of these following 15 states, you should only purchase Bubble Bandit Dishwasher Detergent with phosphate if you are buying it for commercial or institutional use: Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. If you live in New York or Maryland you may not purchase Bubble Bandit for either residential or commercial use.

At first I just bought the 2 bags because I was worried about getting burned once again by products that claim to clean your dishes "sparkling clean." I can't tell you how much money I have wasted, how much product I've thrown away, not to mention all of the water and chemicals that have gone down the drain just to get rid of the white creepy crud that seemed to be permanently fused to my dishes. Bubble Bandit not only cleaned the white crud from my dishes, it has also cleaned the white crusty build up in my dish washer. I am now returning to purchase a full case because I am so afraid that the super evil EPA will go after the phosphates in commercial detergents as well. I figure each bag will last me at least 1 year since I only run about 2 loads per week so I am safe for awhile!

The product says you shouldn't have to use rinse agents like Jet Dry or Lemi Shine but I think this applies to people who have "city water" we have well water which is pretty heavy with calcium so the rinse agents are almost necessary. I do find that I use way less than I was however. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is frustrated with the new consumer products enforced on manufactures by the EPA, I pretty much can vouch that you will not be disappointed!

My dishes are finally completely clean again! It feels like I have been washing and re-washing (and re-washing and re-washing and re-washing) dishes trying to get them completely clean, free of food residue, spots and that almost slimy feeling. There seemed to be no point in even having a dishwasher anymore! And then I found this. I'll even admit to being a sap-- I almost cried the first time I opened my dishwasher and I could see through my glassware again and my plates literally squeaked! Add to that their amazing customer service and you will not be sorry if you order this!

The stuff works! It washes well in hard water (10gpg), removes stains and even cleans off cereal and oatmeal. I have yet to see how it works on egg yolk or melted cheese.

Hard water deposits and stains that had been accumulating with each wash are noticeably better after just one use. White hard water residue is gone from the most visible areas such as stainless steel and black plastic items.

Coffee stains on my white mugs that have been getting darker with each use are almost totally gone after just one wash.

Spoons and bowls came out without any bits of cereal or oatmeal still stuck to them.

The package included some basic instructions on how to load a dishwasher and how much detergent to use. It gave me a chuckle because at least once a day I have to tell someone those exact instructions.

I've got a stainless steel coffee Thermos with an inside that's black in spite of scrubbing with Dawn and a stiff brush. I put 1/4 teaspoon of Bubble Bandit in the Thermos, filled it halfway with hot water, capped and shook. What came out was a black sludge and after rinsing the Thermos is as clean as when I bought it decades ago.

I didn't expect to see such positive results after just one load.

I bought direct from Bubble Bandit.

I am editing my review because I was wrong about the spots on my plastic glasses.
I used plastic glasses because that's what we use everyday. I don't take a chance on dropping and breaking them on the tile floor.

I washed a sample of every glass glass I had and now I am fully satisfied.

This time I used real glass glasses (not Clarus Classic Tritan Unbreakable Plastic) and placed them in various places in my dishwasher. It left glass glasses sparkling and the plastic glasses are spotted.

I talked with the owner and told him I would try his product again. He said he would fully refund my money if I was dissatisfied, but I wasn't.
I will continue to use Bubble Bandit because it really does clean like it claims.

This product has kept me from pulling my hair out. I tried everything to control the smell in my dishasher. Nothing worked until I tried the Bubble Bandit. No more swamp smell on my dishes. It's all in the phosphate, no doubt about it. I have given all my other dish soap away. I will continue to use the Bandit exclusively. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a smelly dishwasher.

So I'm kind of mixed on my feelings about this detergent. We had purchased it a several months ago (1 pkg) to try out and had great results. We use a Kenmore Dishwasher which is about 8 years old. We ran out and I bought another pkg. I agree about the zip closure - it always breaks and I end up putting it in a ziploc gallon freezer bag. Anyway, this time around, our glasses, plastic and silverware have all been coming out horrible! I might as well hand wash. I just bought new glasses as well and they are getting that permanent white film on them. I'm not sure what to do. Now to be fair, about the time the dishes started coming out dirty, I noticed that our tap water was getting really cloudy (but it clears up fairly quickly which, I've been told, is due to air in our pipes). We also have hard water. I've tried adding vinegar to the final rinse with no effect. I'm really about at my wits end. I may try the commercial cascade and see how that works. I should probably call the city and find out if the water quality has changed any in our area.

In the mean time, I guess it's time to pull on the playtex rubber gloves, the dawn detergent (which probably still has phosphates in it!)

I've read all the articles about why they removed phosphates from the dishwasher detergents (thanks Spokane! NOT!), and honestly I think it was the biggest mistake they ever made. I think people waste more water trying to get their dishes clean then the phosphates did damage. Banning them certainly didn't help the Spokane River. Here's a great article if you're interested: [...]
