5.0 out of 5 stars Something for us, January 31, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Bubble Gum Lemonade & Something (Audio CD)
Though it is said Cass did not like this album, it is simply great. If singing bubble gum music is a sin, she is forgiven. No one could sing it with such charm and in such high spirits. Tracks such as "Blow Me a Kiss", "When I Just Wear My Smile" and "Lady Love" alone are worth buying the album. And there is much, much more to be delighted with: there is Elliot's voice...

5.0 out of 5 stars What a lovely title, just like her voice!, September 16, 2006

if you ever wondered a Mama Cass's cd full of sweet, romantic, not-so-dramatic tunes, and just her beautiful voice, this one is for you. listening to this cd brought me the same mood that i usually get from listening to slow ella fitzgerald's jazz songs.

but do you really like to purcahse this for $200? we, in society, cleary have a lot of millionaires because the pricey seller obviously is selling it.

do a little bit of research. you might be able to buy overseas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cass' 2nd Album !, September 19, 2007
This review is from: Bubble Gum Lemonade & Something (Audio CD)
The 2nd solo album by Cass Elliot, released in 1969, has some great songs & dynamite singing. The upbeat songs offer a lot of hope, brightness & positivity that the world needs so much today. " IT'S GETTING BETTER " is a definitive pop single, and is the longest charting single of any Mamas & Papas associated single ever! I also love the breezy, laid back " BLOW ME A KISS ", and the fast country rock of " SOUR GRAPES ".

This album also has one of the biggest ballads that Cass ever sang - " HE'S A RUNNER " written by Laura Nyro. This song is one of THE performances of Cass' career. Cass really belts out this ballad so heartfully that is just amazing to hear this woman's talent. Another great ballad is the closing song " WHO'S TO BLAME " that was written by her sister Leah Kunkel. Plus, there is a return to the old-time yester-year sound on " I CAN DREAM CAN'T I ". The only songs I found not up to par with Cass' talent were " MOVE IN A LITTLE CLOSER BABY " and " WHEN I JUST WEAR MY SMILE " because of the production given them instrumentally, not by Cass' voice. But Cass' talent & way with a song is something that will always live on.
