I purchased the bubble tea straws to use as cake supports.
They work perfectly in supporting the weight of my cakes when stacking tiers.

I make custom cakes for birthdays and other special occasions, and for years, have been using wooden dowels (sold in arts and crafts stores) to provide internal support to tiered cakes. Then one day I was watching Duff Goldman working on a cake on his show "Ace of Cakes", and I noticed that he had something that looked like a fat straw that he was using in place of a dowel.

After researching a bit, I discovered that he uses boba tea straws instead of dowels. This appealed to me greatly since cutting wooden dowels is such a pain in the neck. I ordered these straws and I LOVE them!

I use them for cakes up to three tiers without any worry of compromising the structural integrity of the cake (note: I do use a couple more than wooden dowels, just in case). For cakes with more than three tiers, I use a combination of straws and wooden dowels, just to be safe. I have found that if I strategically place one or two wooden dowels amongst the straws, I rest easier knowing my cake is all the more sturdy!

I highly recommend these straws for cake decorating purposes. They are significantly cheaper and so much easier to work with! I am going to search a local Asian food market for them, so maybe I can save on shipping, too!

Just the right size for my homemade smoothies. It allows the fruit through without clogging. Shipment came right away.

These are perfect for thick drinks but they're not very tall. I have a hard time finding to-go cups that aren't an inch taller than the straw. I've thrown them in the dishwasher and reused them several times before finally tossing them, so for the price this was a great deal.

If they would only make this straw longer. This would be more useable for everyones' purpose. My straws came 50 to the bag and were clear with purple and yellow stripes. They were only 7 inches long, from the straight cut side to the angled tip. Just make 'em longer and place 40ea to a bag or increase the price 20% to cover for the extra material. If they are too long for those that want them short, then they can cut off the extra length. I can't make them longer.

I love making magaritas at home and these straws are the best. Gotta have the 'extra large' straws for frozen drinks - your guests will love it too!

These straws were exactly what I was looking for so I could make my own bubble tea at home. They are a great price and came in a timely manner.

These straws are great to use for old fashioned thick milk shakes that we make at our farm market. I was a little disappointed that the length was not specified clearly when I ordered-they are longer than what I was looking for, but they work ok.

excellent product--mother is in nursing home and all liquid diet. These are just what she needed to get more nutrisment. Will order more when she runs out.

I got these for my 3 teething kittens to chew on. Nice, heavy duty straw that doesn't splinter when chewed on. It can definitely take a good beating. And not to mention one of my cats thinks the best game ever is to bat these straws around the kitchen.
