I haven't put this stocking together yet--it'll be my summer project--but it looks like a really cute stocking that my granddaughter will love.

There were some problems with the kit...the green felt was cut at the wrong place therefore 5 pieces were only half there.

I am almost finished with the Christmas Cookies stocking. It is only the second stocking that I have made. There were some problems with the kit...the green felt was cut at the wrong place therefore 5 pieces were only half there. Luckily the incomplete ones were 4 holly leaves and some paint for a bowl so I was able to make some of my own from scrap felt. Also, there was a big shortage of clear beads. If you do not like to do embroidery, especially the satin stitch, I would recommend that you not choose this stocking. I am not good at the satin stitch and there is a lot of that stitch required for this stocking. I would not make this stocking again because of that. Also, the front of the stocking is green and the back is white. I would have preferred that the back be green also. I think that would look better plus the white felt is not as thick. There were small errors in the instructions (in both kits that I have done)...such as not telling you to stuff something that should be stuffed, or not telling you to sequin a piece that should be sequined, etc.). Be sure to not only follow the written directions but to also check the picture of how the stocking is supposed to look as you work on each piece. Both kits that I did needed pipe cleaners which were not included. And of course the stuffing is not included. It seems to me that they have you attach the back of the stocking too soon. I went ahead and did some more pieces and attached them before attaching the back of the stocking. I lined the stocking so I wanted all stitching done so that the lining would cover up the stitching. As I said, I am almost completed with the stocking and I think it looks really cute but it is a lot of work and the embroidery really was a downer for me. But I think my daughter will love it.

I've done lots of these stockings over the years, and I think the Bucilla stocking kits are the highest quality. Thick felt, very good instructions, beautiful finished product. However, this one is VERY TIME CONSUMING! Still, very worth it in the end if you think about how long it will remain on the mantel. The finished product is great.

One word of advice: strictly follow the order in the instructions to attach each piece. Seems simple enough, but one out of sequence stitch and you have to rip out! Instructions are easy enough to follow.

I've done stockings for each of our grandchildren, and all were purchased on Amazon. Being able to review each one from one web site rather than travel from store to store is such a time-saver and gas-saver. Bucilla 18-Inch Christmas Stocking Felt Applique Kit, Christmas Cookies

Ihave had many Bucilla stockings before and have always been delighted however this one is not as good. The printed guidelines rubbed off before i was able to put some parts on. Much of the work is guessing on my part.

My Grandma made these kinds of stockings for all the grandkids about 20 years ago. When I had my daughter, she started to make one for her, but arthritis prevented her from getting very far so I took over. It was my first felt stocking and although I know how to sew, I'm by no means well-practiced. I did fine putting this stocking together. It was intimidating at first, but I got the hang of it. It took me about 38 hours to complete. The satin stitches on the itty bitty brushes were the most difficult for me! Having never embroidered anything in my life, some of the stitch instructions didn't make sense to me so I looked up tutorials for them on YouTube and was easily able to figure them out from there. This is a pretty complicated stocking (over 140 steps), but the instructions are easy enough to follow and it looks amazing now that it's done! I hope my daughter treasures her stocking as much as I love mine. It's my favorite Christmas decoration; I look forward to taking it out every year!

By the way, the instructions say to attach the back of the stocking about half way through the project, but that seemed like it would make the rest of the pieces much more difficult to attach. I decided to wait (as I see another reviewer did also) and attach it at the end and it worked out totally fine. You have to stitch under some of the pieces on the front, but it wasn't a problem at all.

Also, you might need some extra seed beads. I don't know if some of mine got lost in the transfer from my Grandma to me, but I didn't have enough green beads and had to buy a variety pack at the craft store. No biggie, but they should have included everything one needs to make this.

This kit was fun, easy and came out beautiful in the end. I didn't realize how many small pieces were in this kit at first but i am very pleased with how it turned out.

Did this stocking and it was a lot of work. Lots of stiching. But it did come out very nice at the end. I did not sew the stocking together as the instruction tell you to do. I did it at the end and it worked out fine.
