5.0 out of 5 stars I love my knife, January 18, 2008
I have owned many "hip knives," but this is the best one by far. The blade's edge has been through many cardboard boxes and hasn't lost it's paper cutting edge. I was told that a diamond sharpener would be needed to touch up the edge, but I've not needed one yet. The release is very simple and doesn't require an illusionist's dexterity to unlock (as the Kershaw does).

The "assisted" opening is the real star. If you apply 2 drops of 3-in-1 oil to the fulcrum, this knife is wicked fast. You can actually feel the inertia of the blade as it comes to a stop. I usually don't like the idea of a liner lock (I've had surgery on a finger that got caught on the wrong end of a folding knife), but this one is rock solid.

I cannot recommend this knife any higher.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buck Assisted Opening Knife, September 18, 2010

This review is from: Buck 295DP Tempest, Assisted Opening, Liner Lock Folding Knife (Sports)
This is a great knife. It is the best of the assisted opening knives, with a quick opening and a good lock so it does not open when you don't want it too. The blade holds a good edge and is easy to bring back to sharp after use.
