I was a bit skeptical buying this as I couldn't find any reviews online, but this had everything I wanted so I thought I would give it a shot. I'm happy I did! The knife blade is pretty thick and extremely sharp. I like that the blade locks open and closed, so no unintentional opening is possible. The blade is easy to open with either one hand or two. The seatbelt cutter works great. There is a pleasant amount of heft - not heavy, but enough so that you know you have a good knife. The rubber handle provides a sure grip. Have not used the glass breaker yet, but seems like it would work well. Definately a great buy, would recommend this one!

This knife has now become my all-time favorite for every-day carry. All the key points are excellent, and nothing is lacking. Five stars in every category. The blade is the most easily deployable of any folding blade I have tried, and I especially like the way it easily locks in both open and closed positions.

I'd like to add a few key points of my own; Cheaper rescue knives have straight-blade seatbelt cutters. These do not work well, and are undependable in an emergency. The curved, hook-blade is what works. Also, from experience, cheaper rescue knives do not break glass very well, because the glass-breaker stud isn't hard enough. The Buck Redpoint Rescue Knife breaks glass very easily with just a light tap.

I'm not aware of any other rescue knife that can come close, especially in this price range. I'm glad I got mine, because the price is sure to go up.

Ive been a paramedic for 7 years and I don't think Ive loved a knife as much as this one, No assisted opening so you don't need to worry about it opening in your pocket when you are on a call but it still opens fast. This knife is SHARP out of the box like several other people reviewing it I cut my self with it the first day, seat belt cutter I use to strip peoples clothes on a weekly basis, never used the glass breaker but I like having it and the fact it isn't HUGE and won't get in the way when its in your pocket, I'm sure I'll lose this one and buy another one to replace but the yellow color helps me keep track of it on scene and haven't lost it yet. Medic's and EMT's buy and you won't be disappointed.

This knife (as well as most other Buck knives I have used/owned) is a great buy. For a knife that is NOT spring-assisted, this knife is not very difficult to open and close. The lock and strap cutter on the end make it quite useful. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the cutter is exposed and offers very little protection for people like me (aka clutz). If I grab the knife in my pocket or out of a bag, etc, it is very easy for me to accidentally cut myself on that part of the blade. If you are looking for a knife with more weight/size and with a cutter that has more protection against self-mutilation, I would recommend the SOG Trident series. They are more than double the retail price, however, through Amazon, BOTH of these knives are at a FANTASTIC discount. I saved $20 on this knife (the Buck) and over $50 on the SOG.

First, IT IS VERY, V-E-R-Y SHARP!!!! Ok you have been warned! I love it! It is light, easy to grip, easy to open and very sharp! It seems to hold an edge pretty good, and has a life time warranty! How can you go wrong with that? The handle is a soft, rubbery grip. understand that before you buy it. The handle makes it a little harder to get out of your pocket, which is a trade off, if you want it to be easy to grip, it won't slide out as easy as a knife with a smooth handle. It is as simple as that, use this information when you consider your purchase, and not write a poor review of the product, which does exactly as advertised. Don't forget it has a life time warranty, and is super sharp!

Really like this knife. I use it daily, has held it edge well. Easy to hold firmly, no slip. Nice weight. Good clip. Would buy another if I ever lose this one.

This is by far my absolute favorite knife! Small enough to fit in your pocket, rubberized handle, locks in both the open and closed positions, half serrated blade that is big enough to get the job done but not too big to stroke one's ego, glass breaking point, belt cutter, not too expensive, etc. The solid quality you would expect from Buck. This knife is perfect, well thought out, well built, completely functional and practical.
