5.0 out of 5 stars nice, May 23, 2009

First off let me say that I'm a survivalist, and a student of forestry/conservation. I recently lost my good pocket knife on an outing and was forced to swallow my pride and find a new one. After reading about, looking at, and handling many knives, it appeared that my choices, in order to get a knife that would meet my standards and be able to do tasks I needed it for, were to either buy an expensive knife, or to take a knife and modify it. I hadnt considered this knife because it had zero reviews and I was unable to get my hands on on. I took a chance and picked it up and have not been let down. The pictures on bucks main webpage gives you the feel that it will be a bit bigger, but its a good size. the blade has a good width, its solid and will stand up to use and abuse of actual cutting tasks. The lock system is nice and secure. One of the deal breakers of many other knives I looked at was that many of them were assisted open and had various forms of lock that had to be engaged so the thing wouldnt open in your pocket. I had a friend that had actually managed to both unlock and trip the assisted open on one of his kershaws that lead to stitches in a nearly sensitive area..

The only draw back I have found is that continual repetitive use in a short time period can lead to soreness in the digit used to press down the lock release.

P.s. Per buck quality the knife comes SHARP out of the box, and the serrations are far sharper than they appear to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT KNIFE!, May 14, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Redpoint (Sports)
This is a Buck knife and despite being made in China the quality is excellent with tight fittings and a sharp sturdy blade. It looks great, feels good (with medium sized hands) and grippy. The lifetime guarantee doesn't hurt either. Worth the money.
