5.0 out of 5 stars One of those "I wish I had thought of that"
I own an aquarium maintenance company and this thing works like a champ.

I can carry all my nets, scrubbers, air tubing, filter sponges, flourescent light starters, etc... in the bucket and still put a little water in the bottom to transport the fish!

Not your typical usage, I admit, but the item is well made and functional for just about any use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but not as good as the 56 pocket Bucket Boss
I got a Bucket Boss 56 pocket organizer for my Step-Dad. He loves it. I bought what I thought was the same thing, for myself a couple of weeks ago.

This item is nice. VERY, VERY well-made and a quality piece of equipment.

My complaint is that the pockets are NOT deep enough for holding most tools. The pockets that are presumably for...

5.0 out of 5 stars What took me so long?!, May 28, 2001
This review is from: Bucket Boss 01044 44 Bucket Tool Organizer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I can't believe I waited so long to get this Bucket Boss! Rose gardening is ever so much easier with all my tools in one place, easily transportable from bush to bush. I added the seat to the top, so now my back doesn't bother me so much....and I can stay in the garden longer! There is a convenient-sized pocket for virtually any size tool, and the pockets inside provide great protection for related items that I don't want "soiled" while I'm working.

I love to paint and touch up the trim in our house but oftentimes found I spent more time rounding up my supplies than I did painting window trim. Now that we are building a new house, I know I needed more organization. When I can across Bucket Boss 44 Bucket Tool Organizer, I practically swooned. Using my Amazon Prime membership and a Mother's Day gift card my son sent, I had it on my hands three days after the order was placed and wasted no time filling the pockets with my painting gear.

There's a great loop on the side to hang painters tape, smaller pockets for paint can openers, razor scraping tool, paint brush comb and other items. Many of the pockets are great for my paint brushes, and what I love is they dry perfectly and are not leaning against anything to cause the bristles to become misshapen. I also store wallpaper adhesive tube for quick wallpaper touch ups, and other assorted items one would normally rummage around a junk drawer to find. Inside the bucket I store my paint deck, stirrers, microfiber cloth for cleaning up little mishaps.

Screwdrivers for removing switch plates, a hammer, tape measure- there's room for all this and more. I also like that it has room for all the tools I have yet to realize I need. It's a great way to start a job because there's no wasted time gathering tools! And, really- how can you beat the value? Great price, great shipping once again, amazon.

I bought 2 of the bucket boss organizers for Father's Day gifts. I was very pleased with the quality of the material and space in the pockets: the only problem was the description of the item does not tell you that the 5 gallon bucket is not included....but the gifts were a big hit.....my Father uses it for plumbing tools and Father-in-law uses it on his boat for crabbing/fishing essentials!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well made with more than enough pockets, November 6, 2011

This one is an excellent product. I wanted to give a bucket tool organizer a try. Most of my work is usually a few steps away from my work bench. Therefore, I have never developed the habit to setup the organizer each time I start a new project away from my work area.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but not as good as the 56 pocket Bucket Boss, March 27, 2011

This review is from: Bucket Boss 01044 44 Bucket Tool Organizer (Tools & Home Improvement)

The pockets that are presumably for screwdrivers, leave part of the shaft exposed and the screwdrivers are sort of dangling there. It would not be good at a job site because of the fear of all my tools falling out.
The organizer only covers 2/3 of the bucket. If they had made it full-length, they could have given me useful pockets.

Maybe this particular organizer is geared towards a particular occupation they don't tell you about? Some occupation where people use REALLY SHORT TOOLS?

I may go ahead and buy the same one I got my Step-Dad and give this one away or something. It's really of no use to me.

3.0 out of 5 stars may work well, depending on what you carry..., January 20, 2011
This review is from: Bucket Boss 01044 44 Bucket Tool Organizer (Tools & Home Improvement)
Several companies manufacture tool organizers for use with standard five gallon buckets, which is a very cool idea. The Bucket Boss 01044 44 Bucket Tool Organizer (BB44), could be very handy depending on what you intend to carry.

Construction: The BB44 is pretty sturdy, and made mostly of canvas material, with vinyl layer on the back side, and should hold up well under general use. The material is pretty tough, but sharp or pointed objects can probably still penetrate it.

Exterior Storage: The BB44 features 29 open pockets or sleeves, and one 6" high pocket with a sealable lid. The open pockets are of various widths, either 3" or 4" deep. Some of the deeper pockets work well for pliers, wire cutters, or other similar tools. Skinny sleeves can accommodate a screwdriver, although the fit tends to be a little loose. Only the 6" deep compartment has a cover that might keep objects from falling out. It would be nice to have some deeper compartments, or some snap-tight closeable pockets, or zippered compartments to prevent spillage. Accidents do happen, and if your bucket tips over, your items may spill out.

Inside the bucket: There are more pockets on the inside of the bucket. These are also 4" deep and can be used to carry some of the hand tools you can't put in the outside pockets. It is probably a good idea to carry heavier objects inside the bucket.

Fit: The organizer slips nicely onto a standard 5 gallon bucket, and seats on the top lip. The fit is nice and snug, so once you have the organizer adjusted so that the handle can move freely, you should be all set.

Price: The price of the BB44 seems to fluctuate, so try putting it on your Wishlist, or Saved to Buy Later List, and hopefully you can get a better deal.

The product photo is a little deceptive, as while the tools shown do fit in the pockets, the fit for some of the tools is loose, and they would shift around if they were actually carried around in the bucket. Some will find the Bucket Boss 44 organizer quite useful, while others may feel that with its many shallow pockets, it isn't quite what they are looking for. It really depends on what you intend to carry in the organizer. Those seeking other options, can try looking at other models by Bucket Boss, or similar tool organizers by McGuire Nicholas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bucket Boss Bucket Tool Organizer, December 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bucket Boss 01044 44 Bucket Tool Organizer (Tools & Home Improvement)
Great well made product. 44 pockets holds quite a bit of tools in pretty good organization and its very good for using around the house or carrying out and keeping all your tool in one place. There are a multitude of sizes in the pocket to fit most anything, for average tools the pocket sizes are adequate inside and out and are deep enough that the tools don't fall out when moving it around. I find this one ideal but there are also Bucket Boss Organizers with more and less pockets. The material is a pretty heavy canvas, stitched well and fits a 5 gal bucket firmly but you could use a smaller depth bucket if desired.

2.0 out of 5 stars small pockets, September 16, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bucket Boss 01044 44 Bucket Tool Organizer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I love the idea, and still use the product often, but they just seemed to miss on the product. To me the pockets are too small to get tools in and out of easily. I think I would have been much better off buying one with less pockets but more room in each pocket, I would look elsewhere.
