5.0 out of 5 stars I can't carry what it can hold!
Man, these bags are great! I fit a lot of my personal tools in here and had to take some out because the whole was too heavy! I love the durable cloth; I love the shoulder strap; but what I like most is the use of space. There is a neat set of straps on top for a 2' level. There are organizational pockets on the inside for pencils, chisels, and whatnot.

There...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice but look at other bags first.
It is a nice bag with many pockets and quality materials, but.... I like the 'Ridgid' 22" bag better. It is roomier and has a stiffer bottom and better handle. The bottom of this bag provides almost no support. If you look around, I think you'll find better options.

There is a lot of room. They're not kidding when they say you can fit a sawzall in there.

5.0 out of 5 stars better than advertised, July 1, 2005
This review is from: Bucket Boss 06049 GateMouth Long Boy Tool Bag (Tools & Home Improvement)
I recently bought this bag off your website and when I received it I saw it was better than advertised. The product has been improved in many ways since the description was written. The long boy now has 10 interior pockets, 6 outside pockets instead of just three. (three down one side are still the big ones unique to the long boy) The straps on the outside to hold a 2ft level are now adjustable(holds up better)as opposed to elastic. I highly recommend this bag.

What a great bag! I have a few quibbles; as noted, the inside pockets are a bit tight. The zipper tab doesn't seem to match the heft of the zipper. The exterior pocket flaps should be a bit wider/broader to cover the pocket and the gatemouth design seems to balk if you stuff the bag. All minor. Well constructed overall and every bit worth the price. A reasonably lightweight bag that holds a decent amount - of course, you'll cram more into it than you can comfortably carry. Because it's a medium/long bag you have to balance the load - otherwise it dips - and why no shoulder pad? I personally wouldn't recommend the recip saw w/blade in the bag. I once tripped and landed on a nylon bag w/ a jigsaw - blade in thigh - ouch! No more. Blades off all saws (except circular) and hard cased for transport. I like this bag a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for tools, perfect for knitters, quilters, and crafters and general, September 18, 2009

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect bag for knitters and other crafters..., September 18, 2009

Ok, this bag is obviously intended for macho applications -- carrying power tools to be thrown in the back of "pick 'em up" trucks but this bag is perfect for the crafter in your life as well. Why? Let me count the ways:

1. Cost -- This bag will last forever but unlike some of the more decorative bags like ArtisanStreet's Taupe Animal Landscape Tapestry Carpet Bag with Detachable Shoulder Strap. Features Pre-Historic Animals in the Highly Detailed Fabric Design. Use as an Overnight Bag or Even as a Briefcase, this still has classic looks for 1/5th the price. That will buy a LOT of yarn or fabric to add to your stash! While it may not look as "refined" as a tapestry tote, it still has classic looks and will last LONG after the tapestry tote has started to give up the ghost...

2. Size -- If you like work on large projects -- full-size quilts, afgahns etc -- this bag gives you plenty of room to store your work in progress PLUS your materials to be used.

3. Pockets galore -- perfect for quick and easy access to patterns, needles, thread, measuring tape and just about every other notion you could imagine.

4. Quality -- this bag will never give out. It was designed to carry hammers and nails. It will laugh a hearty laugh at your lace knitting needles or craft scissors...

5. Ease of access -- you can get your project in and out quickly so knitting/crocheting/sewing a few stitches while waiting for the doctor, the plane, or Gudo makes great use of your time and allows you to get a quick fiber fix...

These bags have achieved a cult-like following on many knitter forums (which is where I learned of them). Don't let the fact that they were designed for construction work scare you off... This is a much easier and stylish way to carry your works-in-progress around instead of using tattered plastic bags and expensive knitting bags and it will protect your investment (both in terms of time and money) while allowing you to stay organized and take your work with you wherever you go.

BTW, these also make great airline carry on bags to carry books, a change of clothes, etc as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars This sucker is NICE, June 10, 2006
I bought this to replace one that got stolen on new year's day. Can't live without it. I had to have another.

Could it be better? Yes, but that could be said of just about anything. However, I can get all my brushes into this, my 2-4 pole, caulk gun, masker, knee-pads, nails, hammer, punch, mask, extra cartridges, a full sleeve of tape, four screwdrivers, scrapers, and STILL have room.

IMHO this is the best toolbag for painters on the market. The only thing I can't get into this bag is cut-pots and a 5 gal. bucket with grid and frame. But hey, if it were that big, I wouldn't be able to lift it.

All in all, I'm very glad I bought this tool bag.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the Mcguire Nicholas 24" bag, March 13, 2006
This review is from: Bucket Boss 06049 GateMouth Long Boy Tool Bag (Tools & Home Improvement)
As mentioned in another review, the bag is a good bag. It is lighter than the McGuire Nicholas 24" bag, but it has only 3 covered pockets.

First, the bag is a good bag. Quite large. See product description for actual measurements. It has 3 covered exterior pockets with velcro securing them. 3 open fact pockets on the other side. On the interior, there are pockets on only one side, and they are flat-sewn to the backing. There is no bellowing or gussets.

Second, compared to the Mcguire 24" comparable model, the bucket boss is a little smaller, but lighter. The biggest differences are that the McGuire has more and larger interior pockets, 3 more covered exterior pockets, and is 10$ cheaper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for cordless tools, August 27, 2001

This bag is very durable and practical for hauling around your cordless tools. I use mine to hold my Milwaukee 18 v cordless saw and drill as well as a D-handle Makita router and various hand tools. They all fit nicely. Three pouches on the outside each can house an 18 v battery. There is a sturdy divider that velcroes on the inside and several small tool dividers for nail sets, pencils, blades, etc. The bottom is nicely padded and the shoulder strap is rugged.

Just received the bucket boss bag two days ago about to put it to the test. I bought this bag because the one I have is too small for all my tools this one is bigger. The material feels pretty strong like the three pouches on the front and straps for level on outside are very cool but I'm gonna use them for loppers or collapsible rake. So far the bag is great will update if it falls apart.
