Better than Metal!,

I've retired most of my steel toolboxes in favor of a number of these units. They're rugged, never rust, are far better organized than most steel boxes and cheap enough to devote different bags to different tasks.I've got a plumbing bag, a bicycle repair bag, an electrical/telephone/data wiring bag, a bag with my impact drill and associated bits, a boat rigging anbd repair bag, an emergency car tool/jumper cable bag and probably one or two I'm forgetting. A superb product with no flaws I can think of.

Great Bag, Great Price,

I just bought this bag for my husband who is always out working on cars or doing some kind of mechanical/electrical/plumbing favors for friends and family. Up until now, he puts all the equipment and tools he needs for each job in plastic Giant grocery bags to carry from one place to the other.I saw this bag and thought it would be great for him to use instead of those grocery bags. This bag has a place for his level, a loop to hold the electrical tape he is always misplacing, a place for a small flashlight, his tape measurer can just slide on to the front and there are so many pockets for tools and enough room to basically hold anything he needs to take with him. For what he does and the tools he takes with him, it's the perfect size - not too big and not too small. And it's got to be more comfortable carrying than those grocery bags that eventually tear on him or get holes in them. Also, it's a really nice looking bag. Very professional yet still rugged looking. My husband really liked the look of the bag and thinks he will be able to put it to alot of use. The only thing that would be nice for this bag are little plastic feet on the bottom. That way you don't have to worry about putting the bag on the floor and getting it wet or dirty... All in all, this is a great looking and very usable bag. My husband and I were both impressed when we received it.

I just traded in my old reliable canvas bag for this one. It was hard to do (I love the canvas) but the extra interior space saves me a lot of trips to the truck. My only complaint is that some of the exterior pockets are pretty small. Many of them are too "tight" to use for much. All in all, a really good bag with lots of room.

Purchased July 2005.There is a lot of weight in the bag and it takes a lot of abuse daily. The weight has recently broken the shoulder strap off a second time but this time just tied it right back onto that side's handle and it works perfectly once again. There's some wear on the bag but still looks great. Any loose nails, knives, etc. haven't seemed to have done much to it yet. If it had a stronger metal connector for the shoulder strap to the bag it would be five stars. Especially as the bag itself can handle more weight. Will purchase again. --update1-- Almost 2 years later and 1 year since the review. The shoulder strap is not very comfortable anymore. The rubber pad isn't holding on too well yet still using it. Not really any holes from anything. The zipper itself came off. Didn't need it. The best part is its still carrying everything with all the torture its receiving. --update2-- Feb 2009. The other shoulder strap connector is nearly broken off but will just tie that on like the other side when it does. The shoulder pad is now barely hanging on. There's a few rips here and there in minor areas as it still carries everything just fine. Pushing towards 4 years. Not bad at all. --update3-- October 2010. The wire frame around the zipper area has been poking out for a little while now yet its still doing everything it has since day one. Perhaps another year or two left. --last update-- Stolen. It was still good enough that someone used it to carry off my tools with ease. At least it gave reason to swap in the backup one which by the way... those clip latches broke with first use - terribly cheap. Quickly tied both ends of the strap to the handles and its better than new. You can of course use new better clips with or without breaking off the whole piece at each end of the strap if you want to get creative or from how much weight will be in it. As is, the handles can take lots of weight and abuse though. --absolute final update (October 2011)-- Looks like they may have fixed two areas. The clip latches have a different design that I've seen other products use and never had a problem with so that's great. And the rubber shoulder pad that likes to slowly break over time has been replaced by a stitched in pad. Definitely an improvement. Changed the review to 5 stars (4 up until now) Only other question is whether or not the updated clips support the weight I need to use. They are close enough to the old design for me to say probably not. Since this is a backup bag it'll be years when I'll find out. Its not a big deal though. Just see above for the reason why.

The Best I Have Found, But Still Not The Best,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bucket Boss 06067 Pro Super GateMouth (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this bag to consolidate some of the 4-5 toolboxes I have been using (including one of their smaller models).I purchased this based on the performance of the smaller bag that I have and it has preformed amazingly well (Three years of weekend use carrying way more than it was supposed to, without a rip or other problem.) I got this bag and was really excited to try it out. I started stuffing things in the pockets and quickly found out that I had to be careful what I put where. I put a small pen light in one pocket and it made it impossible to put anything in three other pockets (including one on the inside.) Even so this thing can hold quite a bit. Right now it has almost all of my carpentry tools, a set of electric tools, a few plumbing tools and various assorted other things. It basically swallowed two toolboxes I was already using. I wouldn't recommend this for the mechanic as it does not seem like it would do well with wrenches and sockets, but for the handyman or carpenter it cannot be beat. The size is great, you'll always have room in the bag to dig for tools, because it you fill it you won't be able to carry it. Mine is pushing 40 pounds of tools and I have plenty of room left. I would have given this 5 stars if they had spent a little more time designing the pockets instead of trying to say they have so many. Still if you are looking to buy this, buy it already, you won't be disappointed.

Huge Bag - Small Pockets,

This bag is huge! I was going to use it for my car tools, but it is big enough to hold a small car :-) Although it has several pockets, most of the bag is the undivided center section and is probably 2 cubic feet in volume. Many of the outside pockets are so small, you'd be lucky to squeeze a screwdriver blade in them. As opposed to another reviewer, my bag does not have any plastic or rubber feet, just the nylon material.
If you're used to carrying your stuff in a bucket or large box, this is a big leap forward. If you're looking for something to carry a set of special purpose tools, than one of the smaller sizes might be more to your liking.

A good, BIG bag.,
By RF (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bucket Boss 06067 Pro Super GateMouth (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a good bag, it can hold LOTS of your hand tools, and a drill AND extension cord, AND you can strap your 24" level on the outside, and... and before you know it, you've stuffed so much stuff inside that you can hardly lift it! So once you figure out how to effectively pack this thing so that it doesn't dislocate your shoulder when you pick it up, it's very durable and useful. The shoulder strap is a nice feature. I tried using some of the interior pockets at first, but then decided that things were easier to find just in the big open space. The exterior pockets are good for pencils, a little too deep for nail sets, okay for utility knives, too small for screwdrivers, and generally not used much in the end. I might try a little bit smaller bag next time, but this big boy feels like it will last for years to come.
Update: I've quit using this bag. It's just too big. Looking for a tool in that dark cavern requires me to pull out my little headlamp from my electrical kit. I've switched back to my old 24" metal toolbox. It gets too heavy too, loaded down with all those hand tools, but at least I can find what I'm looking for.

After having most of my frequently used tools lost around the house, I finally have an excellent (and big) bag to keep them and transport them in. When it is open, the top is wide and flat like a box so you can see everything. Lots of pockets. The material is tough and flexible and will last me forever.

End Of Car Trunk Clutter,

Finding anything in the trunk of my car had become an exercise in futility until I found this wonderfully rugged and well designed product in which everything has its place: the outside pockets for bug spray, moist towelettes, glass cleaner, and such, the inside ones for sunglasses etc.., and the vast middle space for everything from dog biscuits to beach towels. The wide mouth opening makes retrieving an article from insideso effortless.Bless you BucketBoss for taking away such a major cause of frustration.Emmanuel d'AmonvilleSagamore Beach

I originally bought this bag to hold my computer repair tools. The only complaint I have it that it's too big! (My fault for not reading the description closely enough.) Otherwise, I'm quite pleased with it. The other descriptions are pretty accurate about it. I'm planning on making the Super GateMouth my standard hammers and drills tool bag and buying a regular GateMouth or GateMouth Jr. for my computer tools. Good quality for the price. I may even purchase one for use as a fishing tackle box.
