The Answer,
By big old daddy (Dallas,TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bucket Boss 83100 13-pocket SuperWaist Apron (Tools & Home Improvement)
Everybody is looking for the answer to the question "What kind of toolbelt is best?". The answer is right here. This apron has pockets large enough for a speed square, a dedicated tape pocket in the center and 2 hammer loops. In other words, it will actually hold the bulky stuff. Along with that,it has small pockets for pencils, nail sets and punches or small pry bars. Then throw in your torpedo level, utility knife and a couple of screwdrivers, along with some pliers and maybe a chisel or two.It will hold all that plus a couple handfuls of fasteners. The great thing about this apron is that with all that capacity it is less than half the weight of a regular toolbelt. If you pick your tools according to the job at hand, you will feel like you're not dragging a load at all. It's also smaller than regular toolbelts, which makes climbing ladders and getting into tight spots a breeze. Absolutely the most efficient tool rig around!

I've been in the trades for thirty odd years and have tried nearly every tool belt / rig out there . While I have two other rigs I use this has been my favorite for the past 15 years . It weighs almost nothing empty so you only end up carrying the weight of your tools all day . Unlike leather the canvas material tends to grip what ever you put in it keeping things from falling out . Your utility knife , pry bar etc. are not so quick to jump out when you climb a ladder , kneel down on a roof or when bending over . I really like the two hammer loops .
The web they use keeps your hammer or tin snips from jumping out and also from swinging around and banging your leg when walking . The web belt itself is heavy duty and tends to stay in place around your waist and not slide down like the wider leather ones . I like that the buckle is on the side rather than behind you where you can't reach it like many other tool belts . And I've found the buckle always out lasts the apron itself so no worries there . The pockets are pretty well thought out and roomy . And will suit most user's needs . Because it's made of canvas rather than leather it's easy to make alterations should you need to . At the end of the day I fold mine like a book , wrap the web belt around it and put it right in my tool box . Something you can't do with most other kinds . Dollar for dollar these are a better investment than the quality leather one's. With the occasional repair stitch I get about a year out of one of these depending on the work I'm doing . Did I mention you can wash these ? Try that with a leather one . I get three years from the leather ones before there worn out or so grody I won't use them anymore . I pay almost ten times as much for the leather rigs so you do the math . Try one you won't be disaappoited !

Not a bad apron for the price. I broke the plastic buckle where it attaches to the belt. Now instead of an adjustable belt, it has a knot tied in where the buckle is. For a hard working individual, who uses their tools in an agressive manner, look elsewhere for metal buckles. For the weekend warrior, this works fine.
