Here's how to make a better handle cheaper,
By
This review is from: Bucket Boss Brand 08010 Bucket Grip (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought and love the Bucket Boss, but I immediately found the need for something like this product, since it was quite painful to carry a bucket loaded with tools even a short distance. I decided to write this review when I was that with shipping the cost will be $14.98. Here is my solution:Buy some foam pipe insulation tubing (it usually has one side at least partially slit). Cut the tubing to the length you want for your handle. Secure the tubing with ratchet ties (and trim the so that the excess tab is removed). Finally cover the tubing and ratchet ties in duct tape. Even if you have to buy all of these items it should cost you less than buying this handle. You'll also have some pipe insulation, ratchet ties, and duct tape to use on other projects. I made my handle over a year ago and with regular use it still holds up.

Good idea -- take it a little further,

This wide rubber handle definitely makes a big difference when lugging a heavy bucket of tools. Unfortunately, the concept is not fully developed. This is just a molded rubber tube slit along the bottom so you can fit it onto the bucket handle. Since there is no provision for latching it once installed, you'll find that you often pull it off of the bucket handle. A couple of button snaps molded into the split would do the trick...give it some thought Duluth Trading

Another great Bucket Boss item!,

How simple! It works wonders on cushioning the carrying handle when you have your Bucket Boss loaded! My wife even can carry a full bucket with this handy item. She thought the next time she goes to get a 5 gallon bucket of paint, she'll use the Bucket Grip to lug it to the cashier. I found the opening slot goes on the "UP" portion of the rubber grip and stay tight around the hard plastic original handle of the bucket. I'll probably just apply a piece of duct tape if it ever does start to loosen up or fall off. I like this item!

This product may seem minor in nature but it is a required feature if you are putting together a Bucket Boss organizer - in my opinion. The size of the grip allows for comfortable gripping of an otherwise too small (at least for my hands) bucket handle. The standard grip on the bucket isn't practical for long hauls, but with this grip you can carry a heavy load considerably further without fatigue. Get one.

I'm using this to REPLACE the white handle that comes with the typical 5 gal gypsum tub which broke off. This new handle is bit flimsy, and with the full length slit down the middle it would fall off when bounced around in a truck with my other tools. I wrapped 2 small nylon straps around it to keep it from falling off. I guess it might work better if the original handle was still on. But if it was, why would I need this? I will say that it is much more comfortable than the handle that comes with the tubs when carrying heavy items in the tub.

With the open slit, the handle grip is always falling off.
You think they would have invented away for the grip to stay on the bucket.

I bought the Bucket Grip for use with full 5-gal. water buckets weighing about 40# each. The Bucket Grip certainly makes carrying full buckets easier by cushioning the hands. It would be a better product if there was some provision to keep them in-place, on the handle. I bought several "Snappy Grip" Bucket Handles, Item 3869, from U.S. Plastic Corp at the same time. The "Snappy Grip" is not as comfortable as the Bucket Grip, but it stays in-place. If I buy again, I will buy the "Snappy Grip" for this reason.

It's a great idea, to add padding to a bucket that's full of heavy tools. The problem with this is it's made of stiff rubber so it doesn't provide *that* much padding. There is also the problem that it can twist as you're carrying the bucket to where the grip opening points down and the bucket handle slips out.
Call me crazy but I would prefer it if someone would make a complete replacement handle. Until then, this grip can make carrying the bucket a little bit easier.

Surprisingly pleased,
This review is from: Bucket Boss Brand 08010 Bucket Grip (Tools & Home Improvement)
I,ve used the buckets for years and the bigest draw back was the plastic hancles would break and crack and then it was difficult to carry. With this grip it covers the plastic handle in such a way as to protect the handle from breaking . And the larger grip makes it more comfortabe to carry

I bought the Bucket Boss bag but could not find a bucket to fit it in the UK. Apparently the size is standard is the US but not over here. I then had to order the bucket and the handle otherwise I would not have been able to use it. With the bucket it now all works perfectly. However, if you need to carry this bag for any length of distance I would not recommend it as it is not comfortable to carry for far, however, it is ideal for organisation as there are no zips to open etc and everything is freely accessible. I must say I did lose the rubber handle. I should have glued it on as without the rubber handle it is uncomfortable to hold. Hope his helps.
