Drill Holster is Boss,
By Stephen Smith (Walnut Creek, California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bucket Boss Brand 54006 Drill Holster (Tools & Home Improvement)
This drill holster is the best around and outshines any leather holster on the market. It coordinates wonderfully with the Bucket Boss line of toolbelts (the Contractor's Rig in my case). Not only does it hold my DeWalt cordless with accessories, it does so comfortably and safely. The integrated bit guard means you can safely re-holster your drill with bits and drivers still chucked. No other holster provides this feature.

Bucket Boss is known for great durable, and useful products, and they certainly live up to the legacy in this product. It very comfortably fits my 14.4v B&D Firestorm cordless screwdriver. It also works good with some cordless screw guns in a repetative task such as drywall, or siding. The large pockets for bits are also very handy. There is room for more than the standard three that most holsters have. The unique bit guard on the bottom is very handy in keeping a drill bit out of your leg. Overall, I highly recommend this drill holster to anyone over all comparable drill holders. You won't loose here.

Won't work for T handle or small drills,

This review is from: Bucket Boss Brand 54006 Drill Holster (Tools & Home Improvement)
although the construction is impecable the holster really needs a leg belt to stay stable, also the pouch will not work well with t handle drills like a milwaukee, or small drills like 7.2 volt B&D. works greak with dewalt, but thats it as far as i can tell, better off buying the hook...

The best holster you can buy,

I agree , this is better than any other available holsters. It does protect your leg. Thats in itself makes it superior. In addition you get extra storage in the side pockets. Kind of like having a mini bucket boss right there in front of your tool bags. It's still not secure enough for me though. I hate when my drills take a dive. They get dropped enough as it is. Who has the patience to strap a drill in every time they use it? I've been on a lot of jobs and have seen hundreds of drills in holsters. I've seen about two that were actually strapped in.The only holder I trust completely is the Prazi Big Lugg. It is far superior for keeping your drill stuck to your side. Just drop it in and you're good to go. Bend over, lay down , jump , It doesn't matter. It's still there. Impossible with a holster. So I have mixed feeling about this product. It is the best in it's class. But I think that class is losing favor with the Big lugg on the market.

Bucket Boss Holster 1st,

I like everthing about this item. I was especially pleased with the small pockets, how convenient to have your bits and some screws at your side. I do, however, wish this holster had a leg strap. It tends to roll backward somewhat. But, would I buy another one, you bet I would. Thanks, Dennis Odom

Might be good for some...,

I've thought about buying one of these holsters for quite some time now. Usually, if I'm fortunate enough to remember to bring it, I use one of the various hooks that are available on the market. I always thought that having a holster would make the act of storing and retrieving my drill a simpler process.
Alas... I was mistaken. With my DeWalt 14.4, the holster wants to twist and turn with my every movement. If I stand still, it's fine. When I climb a scaffold, or a ladder, or walk anywhere -- the drill is not where I left it. Often it has twisted itself inside the holster in such a way that I can't get it out with one hand. Hardly an improvement over holding it between my legs. Perhaps if the holster had a strap at the bottom to hold it against the leg this wouldn't be an issue. I haven't given up yet. I'll try a few more configurations with the holster, but so far it's been sitting in my truck. It's too big to use with either set of nail bags I have, and even on it's own the above-mentioned problems make it more trouble than it's worth.

A great tool belt accessory,

Lightweight and effective. Works very well with drills up to 14.4 volts. Larger drills do not balanced well. If you use your drill on a regular basis, you will like having this holster.

These Holsters do Double Duty,
This review is from: Bucket Boss Brand 54006 Drill Holster (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is also a very good holster for the Ruger Mk II Scoped pistol with 6 7/8" barrel. One of the few that will hold this particular handgun. For the price and quality, you can't go wrong

Sounds like a good idea at the time, but I never seem to use this as it is rather bulky and more in the way than anything.

Bucket Boss Drill Holster Not Holding Up At Seams,
By
This review is from: Bucket Boss Brand 54006 Drill Holster (Tools & Home Improvement)
I used the drill holster onsite for a couple of days, climbing
walls and installing metal siding. At the end of just three days the most critical seam, where the handle rests on the holster is failing. It is not going to remain useful for any length of time. |
