Stellar Tribute to Buck, August 1, 2008

Dwight Yoakam and The Derailers have nothin' on Jann Browne's musical tribute to Buck Owens. She steers clear of the predictable tunes you'd expect to hear on a tribute album, such as "Act Naturally," "Streets Of Bakersfield" and "Tiger By The Tail," and focuses on some of his others. Particular standouts are "Love's Gonna Live Here," "Playgirl" and "Hot Dog." Her voice is soulful, gritty and pure country. You won't be disappointed if you buy it. That I can promise you.
