It is true that as of 2007 the owners of this music - Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham have no intentions of releasing this album on CD. My review is merely for the music & potential buyers would be better to find a vinyl copy of the album and hope that the duo change their minds about a re-release. A nice CD. However, it seems to be a bootleg, with everything mastered from vinyl LPs. I just got the CD for "Trouble".

It is true that as of 2007 the owners of this music - Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham have no intentions of releasing this album on CD. My review is merely for the music & potential buyers would be better to find a vinyl copy of the album and hope that the duo change their minds about a re-release. That being said, Buckingham Nicks is a beautifully crafted album. Written by future superstars when they were waiting tables and cleaning apartments, this debut album is as fresh and beautiful today as when it was originally released.

Nicks and Buckingham were in love, and their harmonies here soar differently than they have managed since their merger with Fleetwood Mac. Diehard Mac fans know that Crystal and Don't Let Me Down Again were originally on this album. "Stevi" (as misprinted on the LP) sang with beautiful youth - her trademark raspy voice more tender than in later years. Her songs "Crying In The Night", "Long Distance Winner", and "Races Are Run" are exquisite. Buckingham's guitar playing is exceptional and is showcased on instrumentals as well as extended solos - the highlight of which is on the incredible duet "Frozen Love" - The song which ultimately resulted in the duo being asked to join Fleetwood Mac. Why commercial success tends to come well after such a triumph is hard to understand. This album, however, is a success in every aspect. Thank you Ms. Nicks & Mr. Buckingham - "you're the winner."

5.0 out of 5 stars Buckingham Nicks, January 16, 2007
This review is from: Buckingham Nicks (Vinyl)
This album is so good, I can not believe it has not been released on C.D.! I have owned it since the 80's and only have transferred it to cassette, when that was populer to do so at the time. I would love to put this album on my iPod, maybe someday that would come true.

Their voices and the music are so unique, unlike any other music from these two. You will enjoy it if you're a Buckingham and/or Nicks fan! Every song is a keeper.

It is worth the $$ if you own a decent turntable to play it on.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1975 WAS A GREAT YEAR FOR ME!, October 16, 2007

I bought this album at a record store in Southern California in 1975 and I still have it! I would love to be able to listen to it on CD. It's a pity and a shame that it isn't available on CD because more people would get to enjoy the duo pre-Fleetwood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Found in a Discount Bin in 1977, January 20, 2008

I found this album in a discount bin at a used record store in 1977. Wow what a find. This has been one of my favorite LP's for 30 years. Luckily my LP is pristine. I just digitalized it using a USB turntable and am enjoying it again on CD. If you ever get a chance to listen, don't pass this gem up. Stevie's voice is full of youth and has all the sweetness and none of the hoarseness that plagued her in later years. Crying in the Night and Races Are Run are highlights with the pre-Mac version of Crystal topping the later version.

5.0 out of 5 stars All time favorite, January 25, 2012
This review is from: Buckingham Nicks (Vinyl)
Buckingham Nicks is my all time favorite. Would love to have it on CD.

I have 2 original albums in my collection bought in the 70's which I covet. I listen to tracks on my IPAD too.

They were and are brilliant. Hard to believe the album was considered a failure. I'll take that kind of failure any day. The collaboration catapulted Buckingham Nicks into their richly deserved legendary musical status.

Don't miss this fabulous piece of work. It is as good today as when it was written!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best "pop" rock records of all time, January 2, 2012

I bought this long player when it came out and played the heck out of it and then lost the ability to play it when I got rid of my turntable many years ago in favor of cd's.

Finally back about 3 years ago (2009 or so) I found this on cd available from Australia and it was a professionally made cd, not a home copy and it's great!

As to the music, it's very much like the Fleetwood Mac sound from when Buckingham and Nicks joined the group, except, for my ears, this is much better. Frankly I grew tired of listening to Fleetwood Mac but I have never grown tired of listening to this album! It is a real shame that they never made more albums in this vein!

My favorite song on here is "Crystal". Beautiful! I also like "Races Are Run" a lot but basically I love every song on this album!

Do your best to get ahold of a copy in some format if you're a fan of these artists or FM!

Check google and look and see if you can get the professionally made one from Australia that I got and I only paid around $20 for it. That was a few years ago so I don't really know if it's still available and I forget the name of the site I got it from. Sorry.

I bought this album in 1977 in a music store in Salem Mass. Right after Rumours came out. I played it over and over.

What harmony. What a beautiful recording. I transferred it to CD and put the vinyl away.

Nice to know that a copy can fetch $70. My has not a scratch or skip.
