Blocks the light really well, very comfortable.

The only con is the velcro adjustable straps are a bit thick and you will feel them on the back of your head if you lay on your back.

I love that you can open your eyes and even blink while you have these masks on.

I have a lot of experience with sleep masks. In fact, I am so used to sleeping with them that I cannot sleep without them now, even if I am in complete darkness. My husband likes to watch TV before he sleeps and I need complete darkness to sleep, so this is how I started using the eye mask and then this turned into a mandatory item for me to be able to sleep. I have many very soft sleep masks which I love, and I wasn't sure about this one when I purchased it. I slept with it a few times and I really like it. It is different from my other plush eye masks. It looks a little bit like a bra (in the sense that there is a little cup for your eyes to be completely open and blink inside the eye mask - as the product description states). So if you put this mask on, you can open and close your eyes as you want and all you see is darkness. There is a tiny little bit of light that comes thru the bottom near your nose if you sleep on your side, but really negligible (take it from someone who needs darkness + eye mask to sleep). In all the years that I have been using sleep masks, I have never had one like this, and I have to say that the experience was different and in a good way. I actually enjoy opening and closing my eyes while the mask in on my face and I find that it gives me a nice soothing feeling before I fall asleep. I am not sure I would have purchased this product if I had seen it in a store because it does not look soft at all (and I really like soft sleep masks). I am surprised to say that the product really works and is very comfortable. I am happy to add this to my collection and I do get a nice sound sleep when wearing it. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs an eye mask to sleep like me.

This is the first sleeping mask that I've owned so I don't have much to compare it to...My wife and I got a laugh out of how closely the front of the mask resembles the look and feel of a bra. It does a pretty good job blocking light, my biggest qualm is it's not very comfortable. Regardless of whether I sleep on my back or side I'm always very aware that this thing is on my head. I think having the velcro straps is a nice concept. Unfortunately though they double the thickness of the straps creating almost a pressure point when sleeping on your back. Then when you sleep on your side the front of the mask tends to slide or bow just a little to allow more light in and sometimes it will get positioned to lightly touch my nose creating a itching or tickling sensation.

I'll continue to use this mask for the time being however I'm not planning to sleep the whole night with it. I'll just leave it by my bedside and put it on early morning when excessive light starts to creep in.

I have owned about 10 pairs of these bucky eyemasks, because in the beginning, they were great. I love that convex factor and that it is lightweight. However, the inside liner peels off within a few weeks/months. But, I liked them so much that I decided to overlook that problem and attribute it to normal wear and tear, so I bought a few more, which also fell apart (even faster I might add). THEN, I read somewhere that the company fixed that peeling-lining problem, so I gleefully bought 4 more of the "new" style, and all of those peeled off as well within a few weeks. I resent that claim that the problem had been rectified with a so-called new, improved design.

I am NEVER buying these again, and I feel compelled to inform everyone who is considering buying these that they are cheaply made and fall apart and are not meant to be washed. I have since purchased dream essentials which also has the raised portion so as not to weigh upon your eyes as you sleep, and I couldn't be happier. They launder very well, and will last for years compared to these eye masks. They actually have stitching rather than glue to hold the pieces together.

I love my bucky 40 blinks eye mask. I rode to Florida from Missouri and took long naps with my face mask. It blocks out all the light and lets you zone out, nap and relax. The mask is so soft and comfortable with the bulging eye pockets, letting you blink. I would recommend this to everyone.

Wow, am I ever disappointed in this mask. It gaps all around my nose, particularly if I lay on my side. If I am on my side, it also slides around uncomfortably if I move my head even slightly - gapping even more. If I lay on my back, it gaps less, but there is a lump formed by the velcro that makes this position uncomfortable too. I don't know what is harder -- falling asleep without the mask with way too much light in the room, or falling asleep with this darn thing on and bright slivers of light still getting in. Seems like this mask works for a lot of people, but not for me. I have a narrow nose bridge -- maybe that is the problem for me.

My husband got me this for my birthday. It doesn't press in on my eyelids like my last mask did. But I sleep on my stomach most the time. This mask can cut in at the eyebrows and the cheeks, making it somewhat uncomfortable. And if it's not perfectly in place, a ton of light can come through at the inner corner of the eyes. Also, it has a certain factory smell to it.

I've only used it once, and I will update this review after a week or so of using it. For now, I would only recommend it for side or back sleepers.

    ***************************

    UPDATE:

After using this mask for more than a week, I have decided I don't particularly like it. Yes, it's cute. But it moves around on my face and that lets light in. When I tightened it so that it wouldn't move around, it pressed into the bridge of my nose so hard it gave me headaches, and the strap sits heavy on the top of my ears and starts hurting by morning. Also, the strap has Velcro to make it adjustable; that's only a good idea for bald people, as it gets tangled with my hair.

The smell has gone away, and the edges have softened a bit so I don't feel like it's cutting in. But it still lets in a lot of light when I'm sleeping on my stomach (and sometimes on my side). I would only recommend this product for a dedicated back-sleeper.
