well, looks great on the wall I suppose,
This review is from: Dark Seeker Sword (Misc.)
I own two of these swords and as far as a practical sword goes, this does not cut it (no pun intended). The metal is pretty flimsy and the handle is too small for a standard hand. I can't fit my whole hand in the main handle and using that second groove to place my index finger....not a good idea, it hurts. The cord handles from BudK have always sucked, I don't know why they always go with those...probably because they're cheap. The blade itself is pretty sharp as well as the point. but again, although these are a solid pieces of metal, they're flimsy and do not hold up when taking a beating. The sheaths totally suck. I used one for a quiver to hold three arrows (with field points) and that's about all it's good for. If you want a sword that's ten times better than this and around the same price range, I would recommend the "black ninja sword" by united cutlery, also on budk's website. That sword is way better over all and has an excellent sheath. Unfortunately that sword also has a cord wrapped handle that gives out after a while, I replaced it with electric tape....hey whatever works.

For the price and what I was expecting it is ok. Obviously for the price it is nothing more then a novelty item, it is comparable to the sword used by the Operative in the movie Serenity. I purchased it solely for that reason and was pleased with it. |
