This is by no means a sword I would ever use defensively but it did arrive very sharp and had a decent spring to it. You could use it to hack down some tall grass and mildly stemmed brush, I doubt it would hold up to anything too solid. It appears to be stamped out of a thick sheet metal.
The wood scabbard w/ nylon wrap does fit nicely on the back but I would not go running around with it for long as the straps on it are not super durable. I paid just under $20 plus shipping and it has a cool look and feel to it. Inexpensive and fun to go swing around the backyard when no one is around.
