5.0 out of 5 stars Chill music to relax to
This sampler is a great introduction to this genre of music. It's all very soothing and ambient, perfect to relax to and take you out of the hectic nature of every day life for a little while.

3.0 out of 5 stars Amazon does it again... Charge for a freebie that should've stayed free
Okay, here it is: This is a six-track CD of dance trance ambient electro pop, a couple of which have an Eastern feel to them. Slap a statue on it, call it "Buddha Lounge" and voila! Instant karma. But that's not what attracted me to this sampler (I don't do the Buddha). It was suggested when I downloaded an MP3 of relaxing songs and this one sounded pretty good. But it...

I have never really liked this sort of music nor am I a Buddhist. However; I try and listen to all forms of music with an open mind. Most of what is "churned" out today, I don't give another thought to. This collection was not what I expected. (I am learning more and more that none ever really is!) I passed it up at first, but kept coming back to it. There is something about these tunes that put me into a very tranquil state of mind. About the 6TH time back to listen, I downloaded each song.

I arranged them in what I call my; "Mellow Spin" list of songs. I play this list in my PC room while I work on Disabled American Veterans' claim forms. I was working on a particularly difficult and close to home case, when my wife came into the "Bat Cave." (My PC/Office room at home - rightly named!) She had heard these tunes play and noticed that I had kept replaying them. She sat and listened. Well, now they are on her machine and I am burning her a mix CD of my; "Mellow Spin" list.

My conclusion: All religious aspects aside, this is a SAWEEEET collection of songs. Get them, NOW. Spin them while you are working, you will be much calmer and relaxed.

Regards,
Gunner

For six bucks... hey, it's your money.

At first I was not particularly impressed with this, but the music has grown on me to the point where I play it almost everyday as relaxing background. It is sort of a very soothing smooth jazz. It is not music I choose to focus on completely after the first hearing. If you like background music to contribute to a sense of tranquility (yet not put you to sleep) while possibly lowering your blood pressure, this is probably a good choice.

Great CD for relaxing and chilling out. Good for yoga too. I think when I downloaded it, it was free, not sure about it now though. I'd definitely recommend most of the tracks to people for a spring board into the style of music too.

I've enjoyed this C.D. for many years now ~ it's great to relax at the end of the day, set a smooth vibe to start the day, or play
it in the background when entertaining friends. This is versatile and beautiful music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea!, December 14, 2009
This review is from: Buddha-Lounge Sampler (MP3 Download)
I love this idea of Amazon offering a sampler of the Buddha Lounge album. The Buddha Lounge series offers a wonderful collection of songs that are perfect for relaxing without making you feel like you are hearing the same monotonous rhythms over and over.

This holiday season, I have already hosted a few baking parties for friends to come over and bake gifts (cookies, cakes, etc.) and after the first two hours, I was finished (as were my guests) with the same jingle bells, ho ho ho, and mistletoe festive music I had put on as background music. I took a chance and threw on the relaxing lounge music this series has to offer and it was a hit! Sure its not the traditional music you might here this time of year, but I have found it really sets a relaxing mood in a room full of friends!

The really great thing is that you can get these albums as MP3 downloads. So, if you are planning on having a few friends over tonight for some fresh baked cookies, wine, and laughter, give this a try.

Check out some of the other albums in this series too, these two are my favorites so far...

2.0 out of 5 stars Buddha Cries, November 19, 2009
This review is from: Buddha-Lounge Sampler (MP3 Download)
I have heard various "Buddha Lounge" collections before. They were never very good but sometimes you'd hear something really nice and ambient, some songs that encorporated some organic sounds and sound effects you'd associate with asia or Buddhism.

I am not a music critic, but I listened to this sampler and most music on it is very far form what I heard before. It is too digital and 90s sounding. Most tracks sound like new age soundtracks from smooth jazz radiostations.
