Excellent screen or windbreak, handsome in containers. Full sun. Evergreen. When contained, to 5 to 7 feet tall; naturalized it is a vigorous grower to 35 to 45 feet and more tall. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Hardy to USDA zone 9. Greater with added protection.
