The book is wonderful however I found the voice reading the audio book hard to follow. The reader sounds like he is obviously reading the book without an understanding of its content, and I found it hard to stay focused on. The voice (not Rick Hanson's) was monotone and did not keep my interest. I find it is more interesting when authors read their own books as they have a true understanding of what they are reading to you, and that comes across in their speaking. Disc 4 was defective.

There are six cd's in this collection and I reallly like it but a couple of the cd's are defective. I borrowed my friend's (who also has this) and her's are defective in the same sections on the same cd's.

This is one of the most spiritual books I have read, at the same time based in hard science. It brings together ancient Buddhist traditions with modern psychology and neurology. How to be happier? This book shows us practical, real solutions to achieve this end, meanwhile showing why the ancients "got it right" from the perspective of modern medicine. Get the companion CD on meditations by the same author.

This is a remarkable analytical look at the brain and it's processing power. The nuts and bolts of beginning to understand the proof power that the Buddha put into everything to the best of my knowledge. This said it is still more of a beginners book that helps you understand the absolute logic of the Buddha, and direction to look to find verification with that philosophy.
