This is a key text for understanding the political culture of the 1975-78 Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia, and the belief of the survivors of the genocide that it occurred partly on account of the sins of the dharma rajah (dhamma raja) -- the king. Written by a Thai scholar of the same Theravadan texts and precepts the Cambodians widely follow, whether as pious Buddhists or as part of the political culture, any student of the Cambodians and their opinions about the Khmer Rouge genocide will find the slim volume well worth the price.
