From Library Journal
The increased opportunity to visit Tibet has led to the publication of numerous titles about this remote area. Unlike previous volumes, this is the work of a Chinese photographer, so readers will quickly see the strong ties between China and Tibet. Because photographer Liu has been able to spend much time in Tibet, we are offered 665 stunning photographs that incorporate all seasons rather than the standard "summertime" shots. It is thus all the more disappointing that many of the artistic works are not thoroughly described; indications of size, date, etc., are lacking in the sculpture and painting sections. A good purchase for Asian art collections as well as libraries supporting travel groups.
