This review is from: A Buddhist Life in America: Simplicity in the Complex (Wit Lectures) (Paperback)
This is a very small book (45 pgs) that's well worth the read. A printed version of a speech given as a Wit Lecture at Harvard Divinity School, in which she recounts how her path took her to be where she is now (Upaya in Santa Fe). I learned a lot about Roshi that I did not know before. Since women are rare as Teachers in Western Buddhism, it behooves us all to pay attention when they tell us how they got there.

A Buddhist Life in America,
By Joan Spillane Mahaney (Foley, Alabama USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Buddhist Life in America: Simplicity in the Complex (Wit Lectures) (Paperback)
This book is a celebration of a womens journey through life on a great path, not an easy path but one of great discovery about herself and life. A must to read if you are looking for inspiration in relation to the human spirit.
