4.0 out of 5 stars Handy, but issue with lids
This is a nice lunchbox. The cover is well-made and there's a pocket inside that works well to hold a freezer pack to help keep the lunch cold. However; I have had an issue with some of the lids on the plastic boxes. They don't always fit well, especially on the smaller containers.

As another reviewer wrote, these containers are very difficult to open. I bought the Laptop Lunchbox itself and these additional containers all in one go. Now I definitely wish I hadn't bought these extra containers and maybe not the system in general. I have a hard time getting the lids on and off. The pressure I need to use to get the lids off actually causes some pain to my fingers. Neither my four year old nor five year old has any chance of getting these off by themselves. Getting them on isn't much easier. So these containers cannot be used to hold my children's lunches. I've saved them to use as regular tupperware, but they are so uncomfortable to use that I haven't even bothered with that either.

I ended up getting Lock & Lock containers to hold my kids stuff in. They are completely leak proof with the added bonus that my children can actually open and close them by themselves. Unfortunately, I can't get Lock & Locks that are the exact size to fit into the Laptop Lunchbox itself, so I end up with a lot of wasted space. I think I might just abandon the entire system and put the Lock & Locks in a cloth bag as a "lunchbox."

In conclusion, this system might be good for an adult or older child to use, but if you're getting it for your little kids, don't waste your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bento Buddies, February 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My son loves his Bento Buddies lunch sets (we bought 2 sets). They're a wonderful alternative to plastic baggies and cheap plastic containers. The assortment of sizes included in this set works well for his lunches and has held up to washing in dishwasher without warping.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have For Your Laptop Lunch!, May 30, 2011

I love my Laptop Lunch set, but it is made infinitely more versatile with the addition of a couple of sets of Bento Buddies. The Bento Buddies set contains an extra lidded container in each of the sizes already included with the basic Laptop Lunch sets, as well as a large lidded container that doesn't come as part of the basic set.

I've been using the system for about 18 months now and can definitely say the more containers you have, the better! Always having a few clean ones stacked and waiting in the cupboard while the used ones are in the dishwasher means that I can plan ahead and pack leftovers and snacks when I have the time, making it pretty much effortless when it comes to actually putting a lunch box together in the morning. The large lidded container in particular is invaluable - there are days when I want to pack lots of nibbly little snacks, and days when I just want to cram in a ton of leftover pasta or chili or the previous night's Thai takeout, or possibly a big salad, and on those days, the cute little boxes just don't cut it!

These are excellent, durable food containers. I bought them to fit the Crocodile Creek Vehicles lunchbox and they fit great (I use 2-3 at a time).

This is a great product for on-the-go people who need special food like I do. Great little meal containers - could also be used for snacks for kids while at the park or babysitters etc. Very useful for the entire family.

Colorful boxes with attached lids, set of five, intended for use with bento laptop 2.0. Less sturdy than more traditional bento boxes, but useful just the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars Durable., April 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I like the different sizes of these, but would be nice if the sauce container was larger. I mainly chose these because they are BPA free plastic, seem durable and come in a nice color variety. For little hands they are a bit difficult to open. We had to practice opening them at home with our child, so she wouldnt panic at school if she didnt know how...that's how frustrating they can be. Other than that not a bad value.

The sandwich size bento buddy is a perfect size. It can hold a burrito and some chips or an entire bagel sandwich. I'm very happy with this purchase!
