"The Buddy Clark Collection" features this fine crooner in the Bing Crosby, Russ Columbo, Perry Como tradition. This CD covers Clark's all too brief career from the early 1930s until his tragic death in 1949 at age 36. Clark (born Samuel Goldberg)had a rich baritone and easy singing style, and his fine renditions of tunes like "Linda," "Peg O' My Heart," and "That Old Gang Of Mine" became the definitive versions. A bit of trivia: Clark did the "ghost singing" for various tone-deaf leading men in many 1930s and early 1940s movie musicals. He was just coming into his own when he perished in a plane crash. A superb ballad singer, Clark was one of the all-time great vocalists of American popular song.

Nice collection from 40's crooner, jazz vocal collectors will even enjoy this one, even Will Friedwald auther of "Jazz Singing" recomends this CD! Buy it.

I've admired Buddy Clarks' voice for years. It was so unfortunate for him to be killed at such an early age. He had a great future to look forward to.

I had been looking for some way to locate any recordings that he may have done. Luckily Amazon had such a source and I was able to purchase the CD from one of their stores.

Kudos to Amazon!
