I bought this for my husband, who is a drummer. The book has very detailed transcriptions of solos from different points in Buddy Rich's career. Also, it has a breakdown of how to do different techniques that Buddy Rich has been known for. Surprisingly it is a really good book to practice from. The only thing that could have made it better was if a cd came with the book or if you could buy the cd seperate (instead of a dvd.) Some people can't always practice in the home and it would be great to hear what Buddy Rich wanted out of it while practicing.

There is a video tape that is tied to this book, but I could not find it to order it. I ordered the DVD with the same name as the book, but it does not follow the book, nor does the book follow the DVD. It would be good to have the video to follow along with the transcriptions in the book. The DVD is great (same name) but does not tie into the book.

BUT IT WAS NOT EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED. THE BOOK GIVES ME SOME INFORMATION BUT SOME OF BR PLAYING TECHNICS ARE OMMITED.

ANY WAY, IT IS BETTER THEN NOTHING.

This transcription book is so inaccurate, it's mind-blowing. Minor mistakes are common in any transcription, but these transcriptions are so far off the mark that this book is useless. Even many of the indicated tempos are wrong! It's amazing that no one checked for accuracy before publishing this book. I was very disappointed.
