Bene Bufano was a San Francisco sculptor. I lived there in the 70's and saw his work everywhere. He was also politically involved, liberally bent. I love his sculpture (I am a beginning sculptor and use his work as what I aspire to in my work) and this book does a great job in presenting it, much in beautiful color photos. The mosaics are also beautifully rendered.
The written intro by Henry Miller is just a little too over the top for me, tempting me to refer to this talented man as St. Bene.
If you want to know about Bene Bufano, both the sculptor and the man, this book is a must read.
