Editorial Reviews

Young western hero rides the range with his kid sister Calamity in four more episodes of the vintage TV series. In four exciting, action-packed adventures, Buffalo Bill, Jr., his feisty kid sister, Calamity, and their adoptive jack-of-all-trades father, Judge """"Fair 'N' Square"""" Wiley, bring justice to the town of Wileyville, Texas in the late 1880s. Produced by Louis Gray and Gene Autry's Flying A Productions, """"Buffalo Bill, Jr."""" ran on NBC TV from 1955-56, loosely mixing historical characters withrip-roaring western exploits. Star Dick Jones did his own spectacular stunts, from good old-fashioned fist fights to trick riding, usually on the first take, lending an air of authenticity to the breathless action! Red Hawk: A rancher is victimized by racist attacks when his adopted Indian son returns from college. The Little Mavericks: Calamity stumbles upon clues which could lead to the capture of the notorious Younger Gang. The Lady And The Judge: Judge Wiley takes a fancy to a widow who may be involved with a gang of swindlers. Double Cross Money: Money earmarked to save the failing Wileyville Bank is stolen and Bill is shocked to learn where the trail of evidence leads.

Buffaloe Bill Jr. is an excellent family western. There is no bad language, and no extreme violence. In fact, there is much comical entertainment in each of the episodes. The shows are from the 1950s; nevertheless, the picture and sound quality are very good. I have watched all of the episodes, and I have started viewing them again.
