5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Wallace, write a sequel!!!, August 1, 2001

Even though i am now in my late teens I still go back and read this book- and love it more each time!!! This is without a doubt one of the best books i have ever read and it ranks up there with my other favorite books of all time. I just fall in love with David Talltree more and more deeply whenever I go back to reread this great book. The romance between David and Amanda is so sweet and exciting! Other reviewers are right, there definetely needs to be a sequel to this book!! Even though it ends with no cliff hangers, there still needs to be one! Bill Wallace, if you ever read this, you need to realize that you can and must write a sequel to this book. You should write it for teens though and not for children (I think it would make the drama more realistic)! You know, I used to think that male writers just couldn't write romance, but I was so wrong. David and Amandas relationship is intense and real. But I need to Know what happens when Amanda goes back to California and David goes off to school? Do they still get married, do they still have to go through more adventures before they can finally settle down together? I will be forever grateful that one day I went to the bookstore and picked up this book.

This adventure book has you on the edge of you seat as Amanda, a gutsy city girl, encounters killer storms, deadly gators and snakes, outlaws, and runaway buffalo. You'll also find yourself cheering Amanda on as she races against the aggravating but handsome David. This book transports you to the Wild West where you'll meet lovable characters you'll never forget

5.0 out of 5 stars fascinating, January 10, 2005
This review is from: Buffalo Gal: Buffalo Gal (Paperback)
I was eight when I first grabbed this book in my schools library. 11 years later I'm still wishing to go back and read this book in between my Dragonlance novels. I think that in itself is a testement to how fantastic Buffalo Gal is. Once you've read it, age doesn't matter. It is a classic that stays with you always.

This is a book about Amanda Gutheridge and her mother. Her mother takes Amanda to Texas. They go to Texas to save buffalo. Amanda and her mother went to an army base in Texas for the buffalo. At the base they met David. David is an army guy, who helps them with the buffalo. The buffalo and David are exciting adventures for Amanda. They put the buffalo on a train and shipped them to Montana.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite childhood story, September 16, 2011
This review is from: Buffalo Gal (Hardcover)
This was my favorite book in the fourth grade. Now I am a fourth grade teacher and read it to my class each year. It is well written and a good example of historical fiction. It is exciting, romantic, and funny. Both boys and girls in my class enjoy it. It is my favorite Bill Wallace story! It's a book you read again and again!

This review is from: Buffalo Gal: Buffalo Gal (Paperback)
I don't really remember how old I was when I first read this book (probably in grade school) but I do remember that I LOVED it! It's one of the few books I vividly remember reading (multiple times!) as a pre-teen and even though I am now 27 years old, I will still pick this book up on occassion to read it again! A definite must for any young girl.

5.0 out of 5 stars a truly fun and moving book, April 11, 2006
This review is from: Buffalo Gal: Buffalo Gal (Paperback)
I read this book first when I was about 9 and have read it many, many times since. I even have a hankering to read it again right now and I'm 19 years old and in college! It's is a beautiful and subtle romance, but, even more than that, it is a journey of discovery. I really identified with Amanda's changed feeling towards a place because i experienced the same sort of "traumatic" move and uprooting from what i was used to. I think that this book is not only a good read for those who are younger than 12 but also for anyone who loves a fun, happy, well told tale that puts life in a good light. My mother read it more than once and loved it as well. This book is for the young and romantic at heart.
