VisualEyes, the "What You See is What You Get" Game. It's a dice game, sort of. Roll out the large picture dice (assembly required - possible a "con" in some homes, but a big "pro" here - those are my husband's favorite words!), and try to find 2-word phrases or compound words that appear in any pair of dice. For example, if you see in the 18 picture dice, one with a shoe and another with a horse, you might call out "horse shoe."
Each die can have more than one interpretation. There's a die with a picture of a parent and child next to a ruler on one side, and you could use it as big, little, tall, short, measure, and probably a dozen other words for that picture. And you could combine any of those words with any of the other pictures... Phrases can be anything common or known (majority rules). The possibilities are endless. So far, we've only had this game for three days, and it's been played by kids and adults, male and female, in pairs and in groups up to 6 people. There's no need to "adjust" for younger players. And it's always fun!

It's simple, very few rules and a few adult beverages help the creative process. Visual Eyes has taken the place of Scattergories, Taboo and Pictionary at our get togethers. It is also a wonderful learning tool for children and helps stimulate imagination and creativity. Fun for all ages.

Our entire family was able to enjoy this game. The 5 year old was creating new and imaginative word combos while the 8 and 9 year old were tracking on all the common usages they could find. This game is also a hit with grown ups! Each person sees a different set of words. We were laughing for a long time.........a perfect party game.

This game is so much fun!! I love word play - games that actually exercise your mind - and this one excels at it! It's great for a range of ages.... from young children learning vocabulary as well as an older audience. (It's even fun at social get togethers - cocktails help bring out some really outrageous word combinations!) The dice are a good size and the graphics are easily read. I highly recommend this game. Friends and I used to get together and play Catch Phrase at parties - now we break out VisualEyes! It's also nice because it's so user friendly - so easy to understand - not a lot of rules to try to remember. It's just good fun!!

Great group game,

We played this game all thanksgiving weekend, and really enjoyed it. You roll the collection of a dozen or so dice out on the table, and players have to combine the pictures they see on the dice to form words or short phrases. The more creative you allow people to be with what the pictures represent, the more fun it is. In fast play mode, you snatch up the dice as you form the phrases, in slow play, you study the dice and write down as many combinations as possible before the time is up. It actually hurts your mind as you study the pictures and try to quickly spot the combinations like: "Treehouse" "playtime" "car-pet" "laughing gas" "cross-dress" or "long-winded". I found it to be a great creative exercise and may even use it the next time I need to get a group into "brain-storm" mode. My only beef with the game is that once you have played it a number of times you have a strong advantage because you quickly recognize the pictures and you have pre-formed ideas for what combinations might come up. For example, a grave stone cross and a pink dress kept coming up, and people who had played in a previous round would immediately grab them as "cross-dress". This didn't happen often enough to hinder game play, however more dice would be nice.

This game is fun and kids really enjoy it. Visual Eyes can be very good for students learning English and are developing knowledge of compound words, phrases, and idioms. I did find it annoying that the white paint from the game dice flaked off right when we started. I don't think the dice will look good after many times playing.

Directions need clarification but my kids love this game and it is not super easy to win. Need to be sharp to play this game. Good for kids who do not read well or struggle with reading since not reading is required. 10 and up because of difficulity.

Absolute blast for kids of ALL ages!,

We received this game from a Yankee Swap 2 years ago, and it continues to be our #1 pick of a game to play when we get together with friends. Challenging you to think "outside of the box", Visual Eyes is challenging, fun, creative, and FUNNY! The first few times you play the game, you'll score relatively low. The more you play, the more creative you get, and have your brain revving in next-to-no-time. Suprise yourself with how much fun this game is! Even my 8-year-old daughter is starting to play, and comes up with some very insightful responses. You can't lose with this one! Well, you can lose the game, but you'll have a blast doing it!

The high school and college-age kids who have played this have enjoyed trying to see phrases more quickly than the other players. Lots of laughter follows less-than legitimate phrases, and the competition is friendly and silly. We like that it is not limited to just a few players -- we have had over a dozen teens hovering over the picture cubes. But although the box says age eight and up, very few elementary students will be familiar with enough phrases to keep up with older participants; they would need to play with others in their age group. We usually only play a few rounds because this game does not hold our attention for long. But the good thing is that each round can be very quick so it never seems tedious.
