Spellbinding story and illustrations,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Buffalo Jump (Paperback)
We have read this story three times since it was purchased. The story and illustrations immediately drew the children in. It was as if they were living it with Little Blaze. They even enjoyed the historical notes at the end of the book and had lots of questions.
As a parent, I like knowing that the author and illustrator carefully researched this story. Bill Farnsworth (illustrator) actually traveled to the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana to study the Blackfeet and the buffalo jump sites. This book left me wanting more. I wish Peter Roop and Bill Farnsworth would team up on other stories concerning Native Americans.
