This review is from: The Buffalo National River Canoeing Guide (Paperback)
This is currently the best guide on the Buffalo River National River bar none. The book is obviously written by a gentleman who has spent thousands of hours paddling, hiking and visiting this remote and beautiful region of the Ozarks mountains. Nearly every visible feature on the river is clearly described in detail -- from the flora and fauna, to the amazing geological features exposed by millions of years of erosion and uplift, to the history of the people and land -- everything is covered. Also provides a step by step guide of every trail and a stroke by stroke guide to the river itself. You really shouldn't plan on visiting the Buffalo River watershed without this book -- it is practically essential! Guaranteed!
