Replaced the standard stick antenna on my Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP Ethernet bridge and it works like a champ in giving me a strong signal at over 100 yards from the base station which is inside of a brick and metal building with no external antenna.

BACKGROUND
I have the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 router that is running DD-WRT v24-sp1. The router is on the 2nd floor of my two story brick home. Inside the house, I have a very strong wireless G signal except in one of the furthermost corner of the house. Even in that corner, the signal strength if 4 bars out of five. The G54 transmit power if 24 mW. The brick construction of my house was attenuating the wireless signal such that when I was on the exterior deck my best signal strength was one bar directly below the router. EXPECTATIONS Increase the wireless signal strength around the periphery of my house in order to allow internet browsing from my deck. RESULTS Replacing the stock G54 antenna with this one was very easy. You simply turned the knurled casing to remove the stock antenna and again to install the WLE-AT-DACB. Installation of the DACB provided me with a five bar signal throughout the house and attached garage. I decreased the G54's ACK time from the default of 2000 m to 250 m and I have consistent 54 Mbps connections. However, the signal on my deck did not increase as much as I had anticipated. Nor did I gain any increased coverage around the house's periphery. SUMMARY This antenna is easy to attach, is of good quality, looks good on the Buffalo router, and there is evidence that it increased the wireless signal within my house. This is an directional antenna, however, it does have both vertical and horizontal polarization. However, for my particular application, I believe that I would have been better served with an exterior omniantenna.

Works great!!!,

Bought the Buffalo router, and am very happy with it. The router is on the 2nd floor of the house, and would have problems getting steady signal strength in the basement. Swapped out the stock antenna for this, and now having no problems at all...steady bars throughout the house!!!
