The R13 Greenline series of clarinets follows the same manufacturing process as the 100% grenadlla R13s. Thanks to the addition of carbon fibers, Green Line clarinets withstand admirably to variations in atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity). The risk of cracking is therefore eliminated.Created in 1994, the Greenline series of instruments has taken advantage of the excess wood remaining from the clarinet manufacturing process. This process of combining grenadilla powder with carbon fibers produces a clarinet that is greatly resistant to environmental change and helps to relieve stress on the African grenadilla wood population..

My daughter has been in band since 7th grade and is now a freshman in college. She is majoring in music and we bought her this horn because it was built to endure severe temperature changes. Since it is stored in a very cold building most days, then brought out to performances, then brought back here to southeast Texas, it has got to be able to withstand those variating temps. It is very hot and humid where we live and this horn is supposed to be able to withstand that.
She LOVES the sound. This is her third clarinet and though the sound is a little darker than her other two, that is what she loves about it the most. It is also a beautiful instrument!
By the way, the clarinetist who is training my daughter had one, bought a different kind of clarinet, and is going back to this one because of its durability.
