The sexiest but least desireable Anya action figure,

This review is from: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Figure - Season Five - Anya (Toy)
Of the half-dozen figures of Anya from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" that are available, this is the least interesting one of the bunch. This would be your basic Anya figure, which is different from the Demon Anyanka figure from "The Wish" in Season 3, the Buffy Anya with removable Bunny suit from "Fear Itself" in Season 4 (I have the earlier non-removable Bunny suit version), "Once More With Feeling" Anya figure (which comes with a little bunny) from Season 6, and the Wedding Anya from "Hell's Bells" also from Season 6. Obviously this Anya figure has less cache value from the rest simply by virtue of not having it identified with a specific issue (I am sure the episode where wore this outfit will hit me as after I post this review). In terms of looking like actress Emma Caulfield this is simply the figure that least looks like her ("Once More With Feeling" Anya comes out ahead on that score, plus it has the little bunny). So this is not your first choice for an Anya figure but the one you go for out of a sense of completeness (says the guy with nine Willow figures).
The idea is to complete your basic "BtVS" Scooby Gang with this 6 inch Anya figure, which comes with a light blue store counter for the "Magic Box" (which is not as lame as Tara's bookcase), a cash register, some cash and coins, ledger book, and a baseball bat (which is a lot darker than the bat she wielded in "The Gift" in Season 5 and the show's opening credits). The base is half checked in light and dark green and contains a peg to which you can secure the figure using the hole on the bottom right foot, but the figure tends to tilt to her right. The figure comes with only five points of articulation (neck, shoulders and elbows), and you can fit the bat into the left hand with a little bit of effort, so there is a limited degree to which you can pose the figure which is especially maddening given the persistent tilt. This ends up being another reason to prefer the other Anya figures sculpted by Clayburn Moore. You would be better off getting the Anya with the removeable Bunny suit because you get this same figure inside.

An Era Comes To An End,

This review is from: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Figure - Season Five - Anya (Toy)
For some reason Anya figures never really manage to accurately portray Anya's figure, or her face, either. Take this one, for example. Not once during the show did Anya ever look quite this gawky or 'valley girl.' Moore seems to have decided that sexy is better than cute and Anya is the worse for it.
There's the expected paraphernalia, a cash register, astrange looking potion bottle, and a somewhat amateurish counter, among other things. Enough to play with, but the figure doesn't have the flair of the various Spikes, Buffys, etc. In fact, it lacks the flair of my Anya in a bunny costume as well. In a way, this is a reminder that all good things must come to an end, and that prolonging the inevitable just makes the loss more excruciating. Sigh!

This toy is great, and really nice quality. However, for a real collector and lover of Buffy (and Anya!), you might want to consider Bunny Suit Anya, who is wearing this exact same outfit, but comes with the awesome bunny suit from "Fear, Itself." Also, the "Once More With Feeling" Anya has the exact same playset, but a cuter outfit and comes with a little bunny. If I was going to buy just one Anya, I'd get one of those other two. :)
