4.0 out of 5 stars The actual songs from the movie!
I am a fan of the movie. Even the first time watching the movie (in the theatre in 1992), I really enjoyed the music. And these songs (all of them) were actually used in the movie. Hearing the samples, I can conjure up the corresponding scenes. A lot of soundtracks nowadays have songs that aren't even really in the movie. Which don't get me wrong, it's fine if they want...

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy this CD for the Rob Halford song!
[...] Rob Halford has a classic here called "Light Comes Out of Black"--which is why you should buy this Buffy album! Supposedly Pantera is laying-down the music on this gem that you want to have in your collection. [....]

Which don't get me wrong, it's fine if they want to pad out the disc for a better value. Newer albums usually have about 14-17 tracks as opposed to the old standard of 10-12. But if you're looking for a document of the songs used in this movie, these are the actual ones. The music added to my enjoyment of the film, and now my memories of the movie enhance the music. So it's a good relay between the film and this soundtrack.

My personal favorites are the songs by Matthew Sweet, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Susannah Hoffs, and the DiVinyls (it's nice to know they made a song besides the classic "I Touch Myself"). Also "Keep It Comin'" by C&C Music Factory was just one of those good early 90's upbeat dance tracks. It's a little scary what they call dance music these days.

I've only given it 4 stars because they could have at least padded out the CD version with some selections from the score to add length. But my rating would be more like 4 1/2 stars if that were an option.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and fantastic!, April 29, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Personally, I do not own the soundtrack to "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", but I wish to. It is full of cool songs. The first listing on this CD is really fun. It's the song that Buffy dances a routine to in the begining of the "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" movie. I love it! It's kind of old but it's still really fun and fast paced with rythym!

5.0 out of 5 stars You don't understand this CD, June 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This CD is not the new Buffy soundtrack but the soundtrack to the original Buffy film. So please either buy it or don't....just stop complaining. Its your fault in the first place for buying it. OK?

5.0 out of 5 stars Missing Music from the Movie, March 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
There are at least two songs that are missing, from the movie, or music that you won't find on this cd.

"Inner Mind" [Deep Thought Edit]
Album: Void Dweller by Eon
Audio CD
(This is the techno song/music playing at the prom in the movie.)

"In The Wind"
Audio CD/Cassette
Album: War Babies by War Babies

Both of these can be found here on Amazon.com. However, they have been discontinued by the manufacturer and won't be available for long.

4.0 out of 5 stars A classic, must have soundtrack if only for the artists!, November 5, 1999
This review is from: Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Honesly folks, I've had this sound track for a few years now and I must say it's pretty well worn. Not to mention the tracks like Little Heaven that I have in my MP3 files. I'm a writter so I write to music to help set the mood and pace of a scene. Tell me you can't see Buffy and Angel at the Bronze as `Little Heaven' plays in the background with it's sweet, simple cords inspiring them to just let everything go and give into the music for one perfect moment. If not let me know and I'll write it for you!

Not only is it just the mood of the music, but when was the last time you heard of Susanna Hoffs or even The Divinyls putting out any new music. Those are classice `80's acts. Besides, how can you not listen to the Divinyls' track and not remember the `I Touch Myself' line from the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you liked the movie..., December 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
If you saw the original Buffy, you'll love this cd. It's nothing like the new one, but this music is hilarious, and fun to dance to! Especially if you liked the movie, you'll like the soundtrack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Variety and Fun, May 9, 2004
This review is from: Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This is a great soundtrack no matter what anyone says. Sure the musics old to me because i was born in 1990 and the first time i saw the movie was 2001. I basiclly forgot about the movie but then i rented it last week and fell in love with it. So i got the soundtrack and i love it. I dance to Keep it comin and nearly know the routine off by heart and the song Little Heavan is a Beautiful song. I love it and Buy it if you love the movie or if you love the early 90's Music.

4.0 out of 5 stars great for it's time., June 6, 1999
This review is from: Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This cd is getting a bad rap - I feel that it is being compared to the new "Buffy". The Buffy's were different times, so the music is going to be different. In 1992 the music on this CD is what people were listening to. The C&C Music Factory were huge around that time. The Dream Warriors were massively popular in their home country of Canada. Susanna Hoffs was trying to make a comeback. And then you've got your classic artists such as Matthew Sweet and Toad The Wet Sprocket. Great CD for it's time. Some of the songs are garbage though (the Rob Halford track sticking out the most), and some of 'em are great (hey, I hate metal, but I quite enjoy the Ozzy Osbourne track - don't ask). If you loved the movie, you may enjoy the cd as well.
