5.0 out of 5 stars That's not a cross necklace...., February 6, 2005
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Palz Figure: Angel (Toy)
The prior reviewer (Daxius) slammed this toy for having Angel wearing a cross necklace. Actually, that isn't a cross necklace. It's the burn mark that was left on his chest after Angel and Buffy kissed-Buffy's cross necklace fell against his chest and left a mark there. This happened in the first season, episode 7, "Angel." (And I'm not so much of a Buffy dork that I knew the episode number off the top of my head-I Googled it.) :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gachnar-sized Angel figure from the first season of "BtVS", February 22, 2005
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Palz Figure: Angel (Toy)
Of course I picked up the original six 2-1/2 inch Palz figures from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (Buffy Summers, Xander Harris, Willow Rosenberg, Rupert Giles, Darla, and the Master), but the Palz figure of Angel is available separately (I have seen a "Graveyard" set with Buffy, Xander, and Willow). I have also picked up the Vampire Buffy and am looking forward to both the next set of six Palz figures (where the spare parts can be put together to make the Judge) and the trio representing the four teenagers from the second season "Halloween" episode. Like the other figures in this initial set, this Angel represents the character from the first season of the series.

To be clear on what you get here, there are three torsos for Angel: (a) white shirt with cross scar on chest, (b) white shirt without cross scar on chest, and (c) naked torso. The white arms of the shirt can be replaced with the black arms that go with the black coat (which goes over either of the white shirts or the naked torso), and there are naked arms to go with the naked torso (although you can mix and match to your hearts content, so that Angel can have his sleeves ripped off, or the shirt ripped off the repeatedly aforementioned naked torso by one of the female "BtVS" Palz figures). There is also a stone cross tombstone for Angel to avoid an an exclusive Inkworks trading card of Angel (David Boreanaz) and Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) with their lips locked in a passionate kiss. Angel has nothing to fight with, but he could always borrow Buffy's pool cue (she should keep the stakes).

As to the educational value, when you have reviewers arguing over the red cross burned into the flesh of Angel's main torso (it is the one the head comes wearing) and citing the specific episode to support their argument, I think that would answer such questions (and yes, the Buffy Palz figure is wearing the cross in question). The chief charm of these Palz figures is, as Willow said about Gachanr in "Fear Itself," they are just so "cute." Besides, they take up a lot less space than the regular action figures and that makes it easier for them to be all around your computer in some nice little tableau of action without obscuring your view of the screen. Getting them to stand in interesting poses can be a bit tricky, and my only real complain is that there are not holes in the bottom of their feet as is the case with some other tiny building block figures that shall remain nameless, where you can have a base you can easily attach them to. But, as I just pointed out, these are just so cute.

ANGEL WOULD NOT BE WEARING A CROSS.

Aside from that, this is a pretty cool toy.
