1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother with this book when there are other Buffy books, November 28, 1998

This review is from: Buffy X-Posed : The Unauthorized Biography of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
This book should come with a money back guarantee. Since I have been watching the show from day one (and it happens to be my all-time favorite show), I have been reading every publication that comes out about the show. "Buffy X-Posed" is the worst one I have read so far. If it was the only Buffy book available, then it would be sufficient. However, that is not the case. The information in the book is nothing that I did not know already from other sources. The author's opinions on the show seem way off-base in some areas. He seems to only be a casual fan of the show. I can see where an unbiased opinion can be good, but I wanted to read the opinions of another person who loves the show like I do. Also, devoting a quarter of the book to appendixes on Vampire related shows and movies seemed a bit much. These shows had no connection to "Buffy" (other than they are about vampires). I can understand a paragraph or two about these shows and movies, but not a quarter of the book. All in all, this book was a major waste of my time. If you are thinking of buying this book, you might want to check out "The Watcher's Guide" instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buffy Xposed a real good fireside book, February 15, 1999

This review is from: Buffy X-Posed : The Unauthorized Biography of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
This book is good. It is an unofficial guide to the world of Buffy but it has some really cool stuff like extensive reviews of the first two seasons' episodes, a by no means extensive internet guide to must see Buffy sites and entertaining looks at the influence of "Dark Shadows" on the show and also a history of vampires on television and movies. A must read!! Black and white pictures add to its gothic, unauthorized feel. I really liked it

2.0 out of 5 stars This book is sort of disappointing, November 3, 1998

This review is from: Buffy X-Posed : The Unauthorized Biography of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Her On-Screen Character (Paperback)
There are not that many pictures and it doesnt really tell me anything I couldn't have found out on the internet. It is 256 pages, but it's BIG print and a lot of it is Episode guide stuff. I was unhappy with it.
