5.0 out of 5 stars bug zapper
We tried a much cheaper version of the bug zapper, it worked fine (we thought) but it soon broke. I looked on the internet for the real Bug Zapper. We paid more than the first one but you know the saying "you get what you pay for" well it's true. the real Bug Zapper has more power and does a much better job. I would recommend this one to anyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short amusement.
I got one of these because i was on deployment and there was tons of flies in Afghanistan. The on/off switch broke in the first 3 times of using it but a little rigging and it still worked. Its a short amusement if your in a mind numbing situation like deployment but other than that the product is rather cheap and will fall apart or fail almost as soon as you buy it.

I love this bug zapper! It is more powerful than the other ones I have owned. It does have one drawback. We have trouble keeping the battery doors on the handle. I have lost one already. Product works GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good product. Does the job. Little of the bugs left after they are fried. Worth the money.

I love this! Wish I had this earlier as it is so so easy to use! And, I just love the zapping noise when I've eliminated an unwanted and annoying fly. A great tool to have on hand! I even bought one for my neighbors

This works great. Got a mosquito that I couldn't even see but I knew it was there just by swinging it through the air.

I used it on small fruit flies and works really well. The battery seems to last for a long time. Also I love the led light built-in to it

Buyer beware!!! This crappy product does NOT work as advertised! In the last several days I have been trying to "zap" some flies. I have only killed one fly after it got stuck inside the "strings". I have again "zapped" a several flies that never killed them!!! The damn things still flew away. I now use a rolled updish towl and flick the flies dead. I have killed 50 in the span of two days after tossing this lame product in the trash. DON'T BUY IT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Effective but has minor design flaws, June 14, 2011

I bought this after I returned a bug zapper by another brand. It has decent build quality and it is quick to kill small- to mid-sized insects, including most flies. Because of its three-layer design, flies would not get a chance to fly through the wires. Effective and I am very satisfied with its power.

The small flash light comes with the zapper appears to be useless to me because most of the time when I pick the zapper and turn the switches on (usually I have to finish all this actions within one second of time), the light would shine to my back instead of front. Maybe a left-handed person would find it helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great, June 13, 2011

I bought this and the stronger rechargeable zapper at the same time. This one went to my neighbor as a gift. I don't know that I noticed any significant difference in the power level between the two zappers, but I like not having to replace batteries.

The zapper will not necessarily kill mosquitoes and midges (noseeums, gnats, etc) but it will make them think twice about coming near you again. I noticed a significant reduction in pests as soon as I started flipping the zapper on, so I have the feeling that the electricity itself will keep the bugs away.

For some reason, mosquitoes will tenaciously seek out some people more than others. I'm one of the lucky ones who gets all the pests and they never leave me alone. With this zapper, I noticed fewer pests and could zap away the ones who came nearer. I'm ok with the fact that not all bugs are killed with one zap, as long as they stay way--which they do. As far as I'm concerned, this zapper does the trick!
