Not what I expected,

I needed a nice coffee table book for a gift for a friend who loves cars. I bought this with the little bit of information given on Amazon, firstly because it was most recently written of the Bugatti books offered, and secondly, for the price, I hoped it would include the glossy photos of the old, beautiful Bugatti autos from the 1920's, 30's and 40's as well as the new Veyron.
When I received the book I could see that it is actually a book of an exhibit at the National Gallery of Victoria of works of the Bugatti family. If you are interested in this exhibit or in the furniture and sculpture of Carlo and Rembrant Bugatti, then you may be interested in this book. I found the book disappointing thin and small. It is a little larger than 9 by 11 inches and only a half an inch thick. The book, just over 100 pages long, includes only 8 pages of color photos of 2 old cars (a red 1938 Type 57C Atalante designed by Jean Bugatti and a blue 1926 Type 37 designed by Ettore Bugatti.) This book has a lovely cover, but inside it was not what I expected. |
