This is a 120-watt, 3-channel(clean, crunch, lead) all-tube amp head. Each channel has it's own 3-band EQ and volume knob, with the crunch and lead channels also having independent gain knobs. Theh clean channel lives up to its name, providing warm, clear clean tones. Don't expect the cleans to have the same body or dynamic tone of, say, a Fender Twin-Reverb, but for most applications the 333's clean tones should be more than sufficient. And lets be honest, you're not buying this amp for the clean tones. So moving on to the overdrive channels, the first thing you should know is that the Bugera 333 is very similar to the Peavey XXX/JSX amps. What this should tell you is that this amp doesn't sound British/Marshall-esque at all. That being said, the crunch channel offers a surprising variety of tones, from a very mild, bluesy overdrive to a pretty high-gain roar perfect for most types of rock or even 80's metal. The lead channel offers an insane amount of gain for pretty much any style of metal or hard rock. By keeping the gain low on the lead channel, you can get enough distortion to play stuff like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, or certainly Metallica, while still having enough clarity to play a tasteful solo. Turn up the gain on the lead channel and you do start to lose some note definition in favor of insane fuzz; amateur shredder's delight.
A cool tone-shaping feature with this amp is the dampening switch, found on the back of the amp. This feature basically affects how "punchy" the bass tone is. Set on low, the bass is open and punchy. Set on high, the bass is very tight, focused, and deep. Medium is a pretty happy middle-ground.
Also note that this amp is switchable between 4,8, and 16 ohms to match any cab you'll be using.
In conclusion I'll add that this amp sounds great even at very low volumes, perfect for you late night/apartment players.

Well after hearing all the bad hype surrounding this amp I had some doubts that it would live up to my own standards. You hear all kinds of stuff about Bugera, but I'm here to tell you not to pay any attention to the negative comments. The tone this amp produces is way beyond what I expected, and certainly stands up to any other high gain tube amp out there. It doesn't matter what style you may be, this amp can do anything.
Buy it and prove me wrong.(Just kidding) Anyway, I recommend getting the amp if you can, you won't be disappointed.

I jammed with someone that had one and I had to have it! So, I got it. I A/B/Y with an original Johnson JM250 modeling amp and I couldn't be happier. The clean channel is nice and warm. The rhythm channel will deliver anything from a mild biting crunch to an overdriven monster distortion. The lead channel will melt your face and dial up the volume just a little and you will be chipping paint off the wall! The boost/fx loop is a great perk. I run this amp with no fx, but the boost is a nice addition for playing a lead or just getting a little more volume to cut through the mix.

I had my eye on a Bugera 333 for several months at a local pawn shop. Well after a few months I purchased the half-stack. I had played it while it was at the pawn shop but I was never able to "Open it up" to see what it could do. I play guitar at the church I attend, we have a small praise & worship band and I wanted a good tube amp. As soon as I purchased the amp I took it over to the church, set it up and strummed a few chords. WOW!! This amp has that beautiful, sweet tube amp sound. The cleans are sparkly clean and the EQ is very handy as you can dial up your taste of Bass, Treble and mids. This is a 3-channel amp, you get the clean, crunch and lead. The crunch is your basic overdrive channel, each channel has it's own EQ and you can set the amount of Gain saturation. The lead channel is also an overdrive channel but with a lot more muscle. In my opinion unless you play metal you won't even need to use the lead channel as much because the crunch channel gives me all the overdrive that I need. And yes this amp sounds GREAT when you overdrive it! This beast puts out 120 watts of brutal tube power. It is compatible with either 6l6gc or el34 tubes. There is a switch inside the amp head next to the tubes that you switch it to whatever tubes you want to use between the 2 types. This amp puts out so much power that I rarely turn it past 1 1/2-2. I have tried turning it up louder but I drown everyone out! The only time that I really get to crank this amp is when I am practicing and there is nobody else around, lol. If you are like me and can't really afford the likes of Marshall, Mesa, and ect but you need a tube amp with great sound and a lot of power then you really owe it to yourself to plug in to the Bugera 333 and give her a whirl.Read more ›
