Editorial Reviews

Review

“Fun and inspiring! Jamie’s book will be a great addition to beaders’ libraries, with innovative techniques and great projects for beginners and intermediate beaders. For advanced beaders it’s loaded with innovative ideas for construction, because Jamie is a master engineer as well as an artist.”

Margie Deeb, author of The Beader’s Guide to Color and The Beader’s Color Palette

“Wow! Bead Bugle Bonanza is a remarkably fun and clever book. Jamie Cloud Eakin has outdone herself in bringing out the joy of using bugle beads. The projects are beautiful!”

Sharon Bateman, author of Contemporary Loom Beading

“Jamie shows a sensitivity for and appreciation of the advantages of working with bugle beads. The drawings and color photographs are wonderful! The projects are varied but not intimidating, and use a wide variety of currently available beads. So dust off your bugle beads and get to work!”

Carol Perrenoud, master beadweaving teacher, and Virginia Blakelock, author of Those Bad Bad Beads; owners of Beadcats.com

Best book for Beaders!! December 3, 2009
By Olivia
Format:Paperback
I really LOVE this book! There is so much variety in the designs, I'm not sure what I want to make first. Beautiful pictures are always something I look for in my beading books. These are great for inspiration. But, even better is the clear, easy-to-follow steps and illustrations. Best part is something I have never seen done in any beading book before, each of the projects is done three different ways, with different colors, bead shapes and sizes! Usually I'm only interested in doing half the projects in a book but I want to do ALL the projects in this book! I was intrigued by bugle beads before but I heard they were tricky to use. With this book you'll find projects that really work without fear of cutting threads. No worry! This is what the bead world has been needing!

Jamie does it again! December 29, 2009
Format:Paperback
Jamie Cloud Eakin has done it again. What DOES one do with those bugle beads? In this book, she takes us from well-written instructions to clear, uncomplicated illustrations showing the bead-needle paths along the way. What I like are the three illustrations per project in different colors. They go from subtle to festive showing the range and versatility of the patterns. What I like even more is how she buffers the sharp edges of the bugles with seed beads. How many of us have worked with bugle beads and beading thread only to have the thread fray and break in the middle of a project? And fringes? Now that I have a better idea of how bugle beads can enhance them, there is no such thing as too much fringe. Kudos to Jamie!! I can't wait to see the creations that she comes up with next!

Jamie has a gift for writing instructions that you can follow. Her diagrams are the best I have ever seen in an instuction book. I love the way she has shown the projects in various color options, so many choices, all beautiful. This is a must have book for any bead lover.
