Only one 1/2 hour special on this DVD! DVDs can hold up to 8!,

This review is from: Bugs Bunny's Howl-Oween Special (DVD)
This is the bare bones of bare bones DVDs. Only one 24 minute TV special is included here, plus one 6 minute bonus cartoon to bring it to a 30 minute DVD. Warner hopes customers will not notice the incredibly short run time until after they buy the DVD & open it. Technically, over 3 hours of unused available space on the DVD.
Well here is what you will get: BUGS BUNNY'S HOWL-OWEEN SPECIAL, original air date: October 26, 1978 on CBS. Starting in 1976 WB found money to be made by cutting up their theatrical cartoons, adding some new bridging material, and creating "new" half-hour TV specials. This is their 5th special (19 were made from 1976 to 1989) featuring the following incomplete cartoons (Complete versions are in the DVD Golden Collections indicated): Almost complete, just missing the title sections: A-Haunting We Will Go (1966) Daffy & Speedy (Depatie-Freling Studios)*Golden Collection 4* Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol. 4 Clips from the following cartoons: Broomstick Bunny (1956) Bugs Bunny & Witch Hazel *Golden Collection 2*Looney Tunes - Golden Collection, Volume Two Transylvania 6-5000 (1963) Bugs Bunny & Count Bloodcount *Golden Collection 5*Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol. 5 Scaredy Cat (1948) Porky & Sylvester *Golden Collection 1*Looney Tunes - Golden Collection Claws For Alarm (1954) Porky & Sylvester *Golden Collection 3*Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Vol. 3 Warner Home Video also includes the following UNCUT cartoon as a bonus: Hair Raising Hare (1946) Bugs Bunny, Peter Lorre, & Gossimer (the big hairy monster). *Golden Collection 1* Think of this as an extension of the old ABC-TV Bugs Bunny Show and you will be pleased with seeing new animation created to bridge the old material. Don't buy this if you are hoping for a collection of complete, uncut classic cartoons.

I really want to know what happened to the ORIGINAL version I saw when I was child, on television???? This has SOME of the bits and pieces, but in my opinion, has been poorly 'sewn' together into a mockery of the first TV Special. Am I the only one who can tell where the cartoon has been pieced together due to poor colour matching and voices? I am disappointed, as I had hoped I found THE original cartoon I so loved when I was young.

Witch Hazel is no match for Bugs Bunny!,
This review is from: Bugs Bunnys Howl-Oween Special [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"Bugs Bunny's Howl-Oween Special" is one hilarious cartoon telvision program. Great treat for young and old alike who love Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, and that hair pin-losing witch Witch Hazel. I own it, and must have watched it over 40 times in the last 3 years. Hilarious when Witch Hazel turns into a vampire and Bugs says "Abra Cadabra" and the vampire becomes a bat, and Bugs doesn't realize it. Bugs is sitting up in bed, and sees the bat flying across close by. He says, "Golly! What big mosquitoes they have around here. Hold still, you little devil." He smashes it on the floor. The bat manages to get up and fly out of the window. Bugs, reading the book on magic words and phrases, says "Hocus Pocus". The bat transforms back into the vampire and falls into the water below. This is just a sample of the hilarity in this video. Sounds good? Why not? You'll be spooked up in far amounts...in hilarity, that is. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
